Owner description: The Lost Waterfalls is a moderate to difficult hike through the cloudforest in western Panama to three fabulous waterfalls. The hike can take from one to three hours round trip depending on how many waterfalls you want to see. If you are lucky you may spot sloths, monkeys, quetzals or any number of the fascinating wildlife living in the cloudforest.

“Great Hike, Amazing Views”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Hire a taxi to drop you off and arrange a pick up time 3-4 hours later. It's a pretty far trek back into town. There are three waterfalls, each about 15-20 minutes apart, depending on the trail conditions and your pace. There is an admission fee, $5 if I remember correctly. They also sell beer, water, and snacks.

“Tucked away gem”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

When we went, we only had time to see one of the waterfalls, but it was a very lovely visit. The path to get there was just the right length - not too short and not too long. There were beautiful views of Bajo Mono and some farms before you enter the forest. It's amazing how everything changes once you enter the cloud forest! The waterfall was quite breathtaking because of it's size. Great experience and worth the trip!

“nice fun trail”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We took the white shuttle (minivan) that leaves one block north from the square in Boquete. They bring you to cruce de Bajo Mono where a bust stop is for $2, they brought us further to the hike entrance for 50 cents more. Otherwise from the stop you hike up the asphalt road for about 20 or 30 minutes more. The trail will be on your right hand side.
It starts climbing up a bit and in the beginning we were all thinking what did we get ourself into... At the entrance after about 15 minutes uphill you pay the $5 entrance fee and there's a toilet which is a nice experience to try out! I won't tell you why you jst have to try it!
The hike was beautiful and all waterfalls worth it. It's a lot of climbing at times so a good exercice but not too long, about 3 hours. I though it was a pretty fun trail where you climb up some parts to the 3rd waterfall with the help of ropes. There are some prickly plants so watch out what you hold onto on the sided of the trail! I grabbed an old branch and had hundreds of tiny spikes in my fingers ouch!
Recommend this fun trail, good exercise also!
