We have stayed at El Oasis Hotel many times in the past 4 years including one extended stay for several months in a suite with 2 balconies overlooking the river and the town. We have also eaten at the restaurant dozens of times. We most recently returned to El Oasis in March 2012 for a 4 night stay in one of the hotel rooms. The hotel staff are very nice people who are all long term employees and they take excellent care of the hotel and the grounds. Several of the staff speak English as do all of the managers. The restaurant is excellent and many ex-pats go there frequently because of the food, ambience, and to see friends. The restaurant is downstairs below the hotel along with a bar and manager Colixto is a great guy who provides excellent service and runs his operation well. Rooms include a good breakfast served at the front of the hotel in front of the owners residence and the hotel offices and there is a beautiful garden between the patio and the road which makes for a very enjoyable morning setting. There is also a walkway with gardens at the back of the hotel along the river and the restaurant has a covered garden as well as fireplaces. The parking is secured at night by a locked gate. Internet is included and there are computers to use. You will be staying directly across the river from the town and beside the bridge so it is less than 5 minutes to coffee shops, restaurants, the market, the grocery stores, and you are right beside the Expat theater and the Feria which are the famous gardens of the flower festival. Cabs to anywhere in town are 50 cents to a dollar. The hotel owner Anayansi is a delightful lady who is a big contributor to the Boquete community and a supporter of many ex-pat events and organizations. She is also on the new Library Board of Directors. We are from Calgary Alberta and we recommend hotel El Oasis without reservation. If you are flying or busing to David take the Boquete school bus from the David bus station for about $1.50 to Boquete and get off by the town square and walk a block over the bridge then turn right to the hotel. Most people you pass by will wish you buenos dias if you acknowledge them along the way on the sidewalk! Or take a taxi for about $20.00 from David which is very fair. It will all be a great experience for you and you will be treated very well. Enjoy Boquete and El Oasis as they are both wonderful in our experience.
