Description: Morton's Bakehouse is an independent artisan bakery located in the western highlands of Boquete, Panama. Our mission is to bring the highest quality breads and bakery products to our customers in a welcoming, inviting and artistic setting, and to transmit an appreciation for and knowledge of the artisan bread tradition to our friends and neighbors in our community. Our artisan bread baking classes are small, hands-on, and fun. They are usually held on Saturday afternoons in the bakery, by reservation only in advance. If you plan to be in Boquete and wish to take a class, please contact me to see if I have a class planned or can hold a private class for you. Mort's bakery is just fabulous. All of his different breads are yummy and his bagels are just tremendous. The only place to get a decent bagel in Boquete. You can get his products at his bakery or at the Tuesday Market in Boquete.

Morton is baking the old style...and bred like the Jewish Rye bred is one of our favorites. He's really trying to make things work for the expats as well as for Panamanians. It's a piece of Europe that comes to mind when eating his different bred types and cakes. As well as he is going the extra mile for his customers when it comes to try out other things like Bretzels, Salzstangerl'n and Cinnamon rolls.

Stop by at his place and see for yourself..... it's worth the ride :-)!

Tasty treats. The Cranberry & Walnut bread is my favorite but all the breads, cookies and deserts are mouthwatering
You get a warm welcoming in this high quality clean bakery
The availability of exclusive hand made arts and crafts, honey and chocolate complete the visit

Everything we bought here was excellent. The owner, Mort, also teaches baking classes on saturdays. We took his class on making french bread and it was a lot of fun. The bread we made was excellent.
