do not eat here if you eat to enjoy food. the food was bland, boring and raw. personnel were very kind, helpful and great workers. however servers do not have a background in serving in english which could make some orders interesting. hopefully the cooks will be trained.

We had reservation with another hotel in Chitre, I don't want to name it, it had very bad reviews already, my husband went to the reception area and said lets get another hotel. With amazing luck we found hotel Azuero! Little gem in this town. Looks like they just finished building it, has very nice pool (kid's pool, jacuzzi). Restaurant is amazing, have to try their food even if your not staying here! Most of the staff speaks english and everybody is really helpful, understanding and nice. Have an on-site car rental company, although the rent-a-car company didn't have anything available for us, service was excellent and they found a car for us at another location. Rooms smell nice, not moldy or old, clean beds and bathrooms. Have plenty of hangers in wooden closets with built-in safe. I am very pleased with everything so far and its affordable, too! I would advise everyone to make reservation ahead, because I'm sure this place will be the best hotel in Chitre!

Here are some observations:

1. They give each couple one breakfast ticket causing chaos if not dining together.

2. The check-in guy refused to honor the pensionado discount that they are required to give by law. He said the rate was already so good.

3. For some mysterious reason they close the pool at 6 PM. Completely unacceptable of course.

4. Internet was down for over 1 hour in the first 12 hours of stay.

Not what should be expected from the most expensive hotel in town.

We were going to the Versailles which was listed as the best hotel in town, this one is right next door and it looked so nice we stayed. Everything was fine except by 11PM children were still screaming and playing in the pool. I called the front office and asked at what time the pool was going to closes and he said "soon". The noise was still going on the pool when the bar next door started blaring music until about 4 AM when a pack of dogs right outside the hotel and our window, stared barking for hours. We also called the front to see if they could scare the dogs away we no results. We paid $115.00 for this and a really cheap breakfast.
