It's about as nice as they come in these parts. Which means it's basic by US standards. We paid $40/nt with free breakfast for 2. Waterfront. air-conditioning. Hot water. TV. basic room with double bed with sheets only - no blankets (you don't need them). Free Breakfast! (Really yummy breakfast -- get the pancakes, french toast or Schoshak - or something like that - it's eggs in tomato sauce with a heaping pile of bread.) Remember - everything in Bocas is slow -- and the service is no exception. It's just that way everywhere. so you may not get a coffee or juice refill right away. the owner is multi-lingual: hebrew, english, spanish and who knows what else... tip the maid and she will change your towels -- it's common in these parts for a hotel to NOT to change your towels or sheets, by the way... we left a $3 tip, piled the sheets and all the towels in a heap and she changed the, all and gave us extra towels and floor mats. ( $3 may not be that much to me as a salaried american, but it is a lot to them. the average salary in panama is around $3700 a year. Please don't quibble over that dollar. they don't have unemployment and may not know where their next meal is coming from. ) Very nice hotel considering other people we know had their water run out on them! we must have had 3 showers each per day! Not the nicest neighborhood, but we always felt safe anywhere in Bocas. Laundry onsite was $6 for a 10lb load and you can rent a jet ski -- 1000 cc -- that's like a car engine on a scooter for about $55/hr. (other increments are available) Ocean view at every breakfast.
