From the Royal Decameron my partner and I thought we could see Canadian flags waving further down the beach. After a short walk we stumbled into Woody's. Since it was the low season the owner and her daughter were the only two people in the bar. They were incredibly friendly and kept the cold beers flowing. The décor was awesome - seeing all the hockey jerseys and Canadian memorabilia that patrons have brought. We came back the next day as we liked it so much!!

Comfortable place to chill out and have a few cervezas while looking out over the Pacific. Food menu varied and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and attentive. Popular spot with Canadians vacationing in area as well as local families for a day at the beach. Hockey shirts hanging all over the walls and ceiling. Live music on occasion makes this a happening place for the vacationer.

We stayed at the Playa Blanca resort which is on the other side of the river from Woody's and a considerable walk down the beach after that. Be sure to cross the river at low tide and return before high tide or you will need to take a taxi back to your resort. We went on a Monday, not realizing that they were closed on Mondays as the peak tourist season had passed. We made the long trek again on Thursday and it was bustling with activity, mostly Canadians wanting to mingle and take in the sports paraphernalia. The service was good and the drinks reasonably priced. We did not try the food but others said it was good.
