I have been in a few times and haven't had a bad meal yet. They are happy to work around food allergies and tastes. By far my favorite pizza in this area, especially their calzones.

We really enjoyed the pizza here. Our first night in town we got the Mediterranean Pizza it was great. The next night we went back for more, got a large and had plenty to take with us to the ski hill for lunch.

We braved a snowstorm whiteout early the other night to travel to the tiny aging Adirondack village of AuSable Forks where the Mad River Pizza Co. was featuring Manhattan blues singer/instrumentalist TJ Swan. It's a tiny funky place for sure, with a small bar/counter and only four tables, including a couple bistro-sized. They have recently opened a room out back, which I suspect will come in handy once folks find out how good the food (and music) is here. Lots of thick-crust pizza choices, as well as burgers and steaks, but we come for the seafood dishes--like their chicken Parmesan, shrimp fettuccine, and fra diavlo (which is not for the tender of tongue). The linguine was perfectly cooked, the garlic potent, and the cheese sauce as heavy (and satisfying) as a winter coat. There was a small list of acceptable house wines to choose from and a small decent offering of craft beers that changes daily. It was crowded that night with a couple dozen folks like us who wanted to hear TJ Swan, a bluesman with a 1934 National Steel resonator guitar and other useful axes he used to pick his brains out. TJ was fit into a corner about 15 feet from us and the take-out lane. And so we dined with the get down tunes of Jelly Roll and Robert Johnson, a rousing doo-wah-diddy, and a sideshow of TJ picking furiously with this teeth and, with virtuosic aplomb, with his axe behind his curly-maned head. Did I say there was no cover, no minimum? One of very few businesses in this small struggling mill town (with the mill long gone), this hip pizza grill is aimed at the locals (as backwater restaurants must be), but tourists are welcome as long as they let their hair down at the door. Tourist or local--when you see that handpainted "live music" sign outside the door, they mean it.
