This is by far the best place to stay at Puno (well, actually, it is almost one hour drive from Puno - partly on a dirt road). Superbly located right on the lake. Quite exclusive and stylishly decorated with an eye for detail. They had problems with the wifi when I was staying because apparently their land lines were down following bad weather, but they managed to arrange something via satellite which worked ok from the reception area. Very good food. Very good range of outings included - some short ones, some half-days, some full days (the latter being charged extra). Good guides. Charming service. Great experience.

Room Tip: The King Suites are a bit small - go for the Dusk Suites or Dawn Suites (depending whether you are a...

Plus:
• Superb location, facing the lake with an amazing view and 2 decks to enjoy the sun
• Very well furnished, simple design
• Very nice and prepared guides for excursions
• I suggest bird watching tour
Minus:
• There is not enough space for clothes in the room (the closet is tiny and located behind the door)
• Several thinks do not fit with an ecological hotel: towels were changed after one night even though we didn’t put them on the bathtub but on door hanger
• Food is poor and the hotel do not deserve belonging to Relais&Châteaux for food The cuisine here was average for the level: which mean poor food in Perù. As my boyfriend asked for sparkling water one night we were told it was the last bottle! This is not a Relais&Châteaux service at all.

Just returned 2 days ago from a trip to Titilaka. We traveled to Lima, Cusco, and the Puno area. This hotel was wonderful and an unforgettable experience that our family will always cherish. The room was clean and had unique luxurious touches that only a boutique hotel could pull off. For instance, every night the hotel staff would place hot water bottles in our fluffy, immaculate beds to warm our sheets. Talk about going above and beyond the mint on the pillow! I was worried about the children (ages 8 and 11) being entertained in such a small unique-upscale property. However, they were so busy will activities they hardly even looked at their electronics. Plus, the hotel was so intimate that we felt comfortable with them hanging out in the game room (board games!) and pretty much wandering the property on their own.
The food, was amazing and we had the opportunity to discuss the recipes with the executive chef visiting from Lima. Service perfect. Staff friendly and ready to do whatever needed to make our stay amazing! Excursions were unforgettable. We went to Taquille, Uros, weaving community and did outdoor activities around the property (biking, canoeing, etc.) All were perfect and all except Taquille were just for our family (2 families on Taquille). The great part was we were really able to interact and meet native Peruvian families on these excursions and truly immerse ourselves in the culture. For instance, on Taquille Island we were introduced to Roberto's family who showed us their amazing weaving techniques and then shared a bowl of the most amazing quinoa soup that we've ever had. All while looking out onto the beautiful lake Titilaka from the top of Taquille island. I have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel and think this hotel was worth every penny! Thanks to the wonderful staff!!

Room Tip: Third floor has wonderful vista and high roof. Stayed on the Sunset side which was amazing!

The lodge is situated on a point on Lake Titicaca that provides wonderful views of the lake on three sides and of meadows where local farmers grow a variety of local crops.
This small hotel has an eclectic and exclusive feel, the rooms are large, luxurious and provide views of the lake; the staff are wonderful. The food is top drawer reflecting local traditions and supply.
Disappointing is the long (two hour) transfer from Juliaca airport, we were unaware prior to arriving. Although the staff do meet arriving guests at the hotel and provide a safe comfortable transfer service. Also disappointing is the very limited access to internet, this is said to be improved by the staff in the near future, it needs to be.

The location is gorgeous, service and food were also excellent during our stay. The exterior is showing signs of wear, not surprising in the challenging climate.
The rooms look like some famous name has had a hand in the design, and original design it is. The bathroom and bedroom is the same room, the bath is closest to the entrance, with a bathtub on a dais one meter from the pillows on the bed. I for one like the bedroom to be cooler than the bathroom, I also prefer the toilet to have proper door.
The access road is good for about half the distance from the Pan American Highway to the hotel. The second half is 20 km/h quality, preferrably with a 4 WD offroad vehicle. Apparently the local mayors are arguing about where the road should be, each wanting it where they can get the most construction money for their own community from the state.
All things considered though, it is a beatiful place, and I do recommend it for those wanting a secluded place, good service and beautiful views.

This hotel is great -- the location, the rooms, the activities. Spent two weeks travelling in Peru and Bolivia and this was one of the highlights. It is in a very isolated location, sitting literally right on Lake Titilaka and no matter where you are in the hotel, you have an amazing view of the water. We had a dawn to dusk corner suite which was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more helpful (although the service is not at a New York pace). The food was, for the most part, very good. Out of all the excursions, I would recommend Taquile island as by, far and away, the most beautiful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: dawn to dusk corner suite is lovely, asking for the ones closest to the lake.

I generally don't write reviews unless I have a high opinon of a place. But in this case I have to say we were disappointed in the hotel considering the cost as compared to others in the area. It is on a pretty penninsula and is a beautiful building. But the food is not what I expected for the cost of staying there. This seemed to be the reaction of most of the people we talked to there. There is not much variety or imagination in the menu. Lots of Andean trout dishes and repeated menus. We stayed there 3 nights.
The hotel is beautiful but not real functional. The huge window were apparently not double pane as they "sweated" and they really should give you a squeegy to be able to see out of them. Since it is an isolated location, people leave early to make connections. It is very noisy as a result. You hear noise starting about 5 in the morning. By no means would I take kids there as it has no special activites of them other than a TV room.
The activities were a plus. They are usually in small groups and go at times or to places the hotels and guides in Puno do not go to.
Puno is not a glamour place to stay but I would recommend trying there over staying here..
