We visit the night market at Harrison road often - I have always found it a great place to pick up good bargains. Often, the prices are so low that you don't even need to bargain.
There is a slight difference form the wagwag (Ukay Ukay) shops in this area -
a) Lots more shops, all close to each other - easy to compare.
b) You get much more than just clothes - you get shoes, socks (first hand), souvenirs, etc.
c) More variety
d) Lower costs (perhaps due to the low establishment costs)
It is surprisingly safe, considering that it tends to be a bit dark.
Some good things I picked up during my many visits are - leather shoes, sweaters, woollen caps, socks, souvenirs, handicrafts.
It starts every evening at around 7:30 pm and goes on upto nearly midnight (but stalls start packing around 10pm)
How to reach :
One lane of Harrison road - right at it's end is closed off for traffic every evening for the night market. (Yes - the night market is on the road!) - It is located at the bottom end of Harrison road (opposite to the SM / university end of the road), near Burnham park / Rizal statue.
For simpler clothes, it still is better to shop at a Wagwag (UK UK) shop, since in the light, you may spot some clothes defects. However, for sweaters etc, the night market is better.
