We went here during the off-peak season and we were welcomed by: a brownout (they had no generator), bugs (a big spider INSIDE the room, and relatively healthy cockroaches..omg), no hot water, and the news that they don't have breakfast for us the next day because they don't have any cooks. The nearby sari-sari store is closed so this place has practically nothing. We decided to leave the next day because of this. They don't even have a place to eat around the area. Luckily, the resort nearby called Il SIgno Resort (Italian-owned) had a few guests and they are generous enough to share their cooked food with us.
On top of all this - you will be 'sneakily' charged $35 (supposedly their "off-peak rate") for the boat ride to the resort - which only takes 10 minutes - without informing you beforehand. They will make it sound like a "free pick-up" initially but once you want to go back to the Mabini proper, they will charge you and even threaten not to take you back if you don't agree with their price. If you visit Anilao, make sure to avoid this resort, or better yet, I'd highly recommend Il Signo Resort next to it instead (they have nice, accommodating people there and I'm happy to give them the business instead. They have cheaper rates too). Haven resort = highway robbery.
