Pub atmosphere. Good service. Food okay. But didn't have any lemonade. What luncheon place doesn't have lemonade for an Arnie?

I was skeptical once I realized this was a hotel restaurant but my husband wanted to give it a try. Things went downhill when they didn't have the first three beers we ask about. After finally finding a couple they did have we settled on crab cakes and the pub burger. I was sure we made a mistake but, hold on. The food was really good! So were the beers they did have; a Harp lager and Ithaca Ale.
The burger was done just as ordered and had waffle fries and a big fat pickle wedge. It came with the usual condiments; onion, lettuce leaf, and a tomato slice. I forgot to ask for a whole grain bun so am not sure if they had that.
The crab cakes (2) came with a steamed beans mix, a potato cake and coleslaw with a creamy dressing. Both were very filling; more than enough food.
Service was ok but not outstanding in that the waitress didn't know much about any of the beers asked about. She was attentive once the food arrived, checking back a couple times. There was a long list of bottled and draft beers but as said at the top not all listed were available when we were there.

I ordered the corned beef and cabbage here since it was homemade. The beef was a little chewy and the potatoes bland. Not the best I've had but OK. Service was very good and the value for money was typical of a hotel restaurant. It's not bad if you are staying in the hotel and don't want to drive.

Unless you plan to purchase alcohol, don't bother. They cater to the tables that buy alcohol and ignore all others after they bring out your food. We go for trivia and don't buy much but we still buy and are there every week. And every week the service gets worse. Twice we've had to go up to the bar to ask for our check while our waitress joined another to flirt with a table of guys. Terrible, terrible service.
