“College tour with teens who loved this inn!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2010

I traveled to this inn with my two teenage children. We stayed in the Garden Room. It was lovely, the service was wonderful and the breakfast was to die for. We were there to tour Ithaca College and we were just thrilled with the peace and quiet of this lovely stopover! There were many couples there touring wine country. Definitely worth visiting!

What a delightful find during our first trip to the Finger Lake area. A Wicher Garden B&B blends the perfect combo of peaceful farm setting, conveniently located to everything we wanted to see and do. Gail and Gary are the quintessential B&B hosts; we felt like we were visiting dear, long-time friends. The cats are super friendly too!

It's a wonderful place to discover the Finger Lakes. The Inn is located outside of Auburn. It is a country home and very quiet. The garden room was very spacy, clean and wonderfully decorated. The bed was very big and comfortable. Breakfast is very good, especially the omelet with goose cheese. We enjoyed the conversation with our hosts. It was a quite warm spring, so we spent some wonderful evenings on the porch. We like the place very much and hope to come back.

This made me laugh. These lovely folks from Germany lost something in the translation on the "goose cheese", pretty funny. We actually use Cabot Hunter's Seriously Sharp Cheese in our omelettes, it comes from Vermont cows! Gail

Warm welcome by the friendly couple who run this place. Even their cats are very friendly. The breakfast is delicious and can make you skip lunch due to the varied and ample foods served. Location very convenient in the Fingers Lake region of New York state.
Clean, quiet, ideal for a romantic getaway.

This bed and breakfast was by far the cleanest that my husband and I have stayed at. The Garden Room was absolutely charming. Enjoyed a dinner at "Balloons" - a diamond in the rough - great food and great staff! Breakfast each morning was wonderful and the hospitality of Gail and Gary was very warm and inviting. We would definitely return for a visit.

We had a great time staying at the Wicher Garden. At only a 15 minute drive to the lakes, it is a great alternative to the more costly inns nearer to the lakes. The town of Auburn also has a number of nice restaurants. The hosts are lovely, a beautiful property, lots of tourism information and good food. They even gave us an extra memory card for our camera when ours was full!! I would recommend the Wicher Garden if you are travelling to Finger Lakes.

I've stayed at Wicher Garden twice now with my wife, and both stays were nothing short of wonderful. Our first stay was Valentine's Day weekend 2009 for a romantic weekend getaway, and now mid-October 2009 for our honeymoon weekend (Yes, we're newly-weds and choosing to spend our honeymoon weekend here was an easy decision.)

The owners, Gail and Gary, are very friendly and do their best to make each and everyone's stay special and unique. Getting settled is painless and easy. The rooms we've stayed in, Emerald and Rose, have been beautiful, very clean, and most importantly quiet and cozy. The nice touch is that each room is distinctly different, and not your typcial cookie-cutter replica. You'll be hard pressed to get out of the comfortable beds. There is also plenty of room to enjoy your stay, and each bathroom is very clean, spacious, and sufficient for any needs. We particularly loved the two-person whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, and LCD TV (for the tech people like myself) in the Rose room.

Breakfast is served every morning and its like dining at a 5-star restaurant. Each day Gail servers something unique and quite different from your standard breakfast faire. We've enjoyed items such as crepes, a french toast bake, and an egg casserole-like dish. The descriptions do not do any of the actual dishes any justice. I don't even like crepes, but I was blown away when I had what Gail had prepared. If an endless buffet was served, I honestly do not think I'd be able to stop eating. Regardless, there is more than enough food at breakfast time only augmented by delicious home-made breads, parfaits, and fruit. I think Gail deserves a Michelin Star. And by the way, don't forget to grab a cookie at night.

If you enjoy pets, they have the sweetest, smartest, and most well-behaved golden retriever I've ever met. They also have 2 very cute cats. If you're not a pet fan, that doesn't appear to be an issue. Gail and Gary are very respectful of the guests and their wishes and keep their pets in the 'personnel only' areas and only bring their dog out when ok'ed by guests. Do yourself a favor, though, and mingle with Gigi and the cats.

The price is right, the owners are wonderful, breakfast is out of this world, and the rooms are more comfy than most if not all of the places you'll stay in a lifetime. There's plenty to do in the fFinger Lakes from wine touring to shopping to the excellent restaurants. The next time you want to make a trip up to the Finger Lakes region for whatever reason, choose Wicher Garden. You will certianly not regret it.
