We have stayed here many times as we have family in Auburn. Once again, the room is filthy, there was dirt in the corners which look like they were never cleaned. The room is so loud looking over the pool area. The rooms are outdated and the whole hotel needs a renovation. The staff is very unhelpful and sometimes were just plain rude when we needed anything. The only reason they get the prices they do is there is no where else to stay in this town. It is almost worth staying in Syracuse and driving into to see relatives. After this stay, even with the price of gas, I think that is what I will be doing.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. It was pretty basic. It was clean and the staff was good. The one downside is that the room we had, had a view of the indoor pool, so no natural light comes in. There is a balcony that is shared with the next room so we didnt even want to open our curtains....i guess that's why they had so many lamps to light up the room. It was ok for one night.

Thank you for your recent stay at the Holiday Inn, Auburn. I was delighted to read that overall you were pleased with your room and our services. The next time you are visiting the Finger Lakes Region and Auburn, I recommend requesting a room facing the church for a room with more natural lighting. Some guests do prefer Courtyard rooms because they enjoy the view of the Courtyard and the view of the indoor swimming pool; but it does not offer as much natural lighting.
Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to see you again!

After reading trip advisor, we stayed at this hotel on our way to Toronto. The staff and customer service were excellent, the rooms and bed were reasonably comfortable, and the location was good. Everything was clean. Our kids enjoyed the small indoor pool in the atrium. The hotel management and staff seemed to take an unusually high degree of pride in the facility and the customer experience. Overall, great value for the cost (cost of room even included breakfast) and would stay there again.

Just spent 5 days at this hotel so we could tour the Finger Lakes.

We'd read other reviews on the hotel, so made sure that we didn't overlook the atrium, it wasn't super busy at the start of our holiday there, but at the end of the week, there were quite a few kids, in, so the pool area could be quite noisy. Our room rate included $20 for breakfast, which was fine for us, again, at the end of the week, there was a buffet on, but I preferred to pick from the menu, and the staff were very efficient, my only complaint really is charging $4 for a bowl of cereal! Saying that, the pancakes were really good, but sometimes I didn't want anything too big for breakfast. As soon as you walked out the backdoor, you could see the prison, but we weren't too bothered about that. We had a drink in McMurphys which was ok, but didn't try the food.

This is a great location, and really handy to reach all the lakes. Auburn itself isn't a very large town, but there are a few places to eat at, within walking distance, we really liked Parkers Tap and Grill House, very good quality casual food at great prices. We also tried Hunters diner, which was very reasonable, I had scallops with jacket potato, but the downside was they used tinned green beans, saying that, it was less than $9, and the scallops were really nice.
