“Hip and Trendy with Excellent Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2014

Excellent business Hotel. Location is perfect for those seeking a quiet reprieve from Makati's hectic pace, yet still in close proximity to the CBD. Staff is well-trained, quick, and efficient. Hotel management is willing to go the extra mile for guests' convenience. Since their In-house restaurant is under renovation, they immediately offered to pick up our lunch order from Toby's, an excellent restaurant nearby. Convenience stores, laundry shoppes, and hip new restaurants are all within walking distance from the hotel. In my opinion, because of the hotel's excellent location, one of the best options for travelers to Manila wanting to experience the culture, without compromising safety and convenience. Not for those who favor glitter and glam in terms of decor and furnishing, since the hotel is modernist in character. A must for art-lovers..And did I mention the HUGE rooms? And the Balcony looking out the tree-lined street???

Room Tip: Book the Suite. Worth every extra dollar ;) take time to walk around the block early morning or afte...

Dear Andres S,

Thank you for choosing The Picasso and taking time to post a review.

We are humbled to know that you described our property an "excellent business hotel",
appreciating our huge rooms, good location as well as recognizing our well-trained and efficient staff. It is our goal to ensure that our guests are well-looked after and have the best experiences with their stay and we are happy to learn that we have a satisfied guest in you.

Our restaurant is on its way to completion and we are equally excited it being an addition to a growing community of hip and fine restaurants around The Picasso's vicinity. Perhaps, something to look forward to on your next travels?

Looking forward to welcoming you again soon until then.

This hotel is purely designed to fuel your love for the arts! Beautiful decor. Loved the room design, though I wish there was an option to close off the bedroom fro. The living space as my baby was alway up to some mischief in one corner.the location of the hotel is amazing. There are restaurants just a few steps away, and one that was especially off the chain. It's a breakfast restaurant, can't remember what it's called now; but it's just 2 doors away! Their food is AMAZING!I still dream of of all the pancakes and waffles I eat there. That being said, I really had a great stay here, and the price was a steal. Would definitely recommend it. Fantastic location I tell you.

Dear opebanj,

Thank you for staying with us and for your review.

We are pleased to know that you had a great stay, found our location convenient and our room design to your liking. Your little one may have enjoyed the space too much...we, however have some plans underway to address these dividers in some rooms, for further evaluation.

Our vicinity indeed has become a culinary destination having these fine restaurants mushrooming around. You may be referring to Wildflour Cafe and Bakery...Which is a nice cafe indeed. On the other hand, the re-opening of our new restaurant is nearing the date as well, which would definitely add more life to the street where The Picasso sits.

Again, thank you for your review, We look forward to welcoming you in your future travels.

Sincerely,

Bobbie Frondoza

This is a good hotel for un-fussy travelers. I stayed here over a month for business purposes.

I have three small complaints: the hotel smelled a bit dank, the food at the restaurant was poor, and the room's kitchenette was unpractical for cooking.

The location is fantastic; the hotel is located on a side street in the heart of Manila's business district, Makati. I enjoyed taking my breakfast at the hotel's street side cafe.

There are a number of excellent restaurants, shopping malls of Western standards, and two beautiful parks nearby (one park holds a great Sunday food market). Everything you might like to do, business or pleasure, is within walking distance; however, there are plenty of cheap taxis available for farther journeys.

I really liked the area, and ended up moving to a nearby apartment permanently after my stay.

I appreciated the design and layout of the rooms, while my overall stay was comfortable. More seasoned travelers may prefer some of the so-called five stars in the Makati area; however, Picasso offers a unique alternative at more competitive prices. I personally feel that other hotels in the area are over-rated and feel a bit hollow. On the whole, I suspect younger business travelers would appreciate this hotel more than frequent business travelers.

Room Tip: Travelers should ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. Rooms on the front side look out on d...

Stayed twice in late July; one night in the regular room and another in the suite. Rooms are large and have balconies. Modern facilities, good gym, attentive staff.
Much cheaper than New World or Dusit Thani and a much more relaxed vibe. Still close enough to Greenbelt 3 etc.
Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, clean, and had everything you needed. The staff were very helpful in answering any questions we had or concerns. The restaurant is undergoing a renovation, so the breakfast on the first morning was average. However the front desk staff did have great suggestions for alternative options just down the street. Beside the hotel has a wonderful spa and it's walking distance to the Greenbelt shopping area.

Will come back here again for future visits to Makati. :)

We at The Picasso has always our guests' top of mind to make sure we are able to give the best experiences, knowing that we were able to deliver at this occasion, inspires us to do more.

Such, the ongoing restaurant make-over is one of the recent developments that we undertook to be able to serve our guests better. The area where we sit in, indeed is becoming a gastronomic destination, which we are sure our new restaurant, when it opens, would be a great addition. Really something to look forward to and hoping you get to try on your return.

Me and my friends had a very nice experience at Picasso. This "staycation" is worthless. From the people outside and inside of the building, they are all good and well-trained. We are particular with the cleanliness of the venue and Picasso is way par from our expectations. We definetly visit this place again.

This is a solid hotel in Makati. Rooms are huge (particularly the Barcelona Suite), Staff are superb, always courteous and eager to help. In terms on Bang for the Buck for mid range hotels, this is tough to beat.
However, this hotel is significantly let down by the the namby-pamby restaurant (Brasserie Boheme) on the ground floor which is quite frankly a shocker (very many people have already written about this on Tripadvisor so no need to re-hash it). This seems to have been recognized by management as the restaurant is scheduled for an overhaul from the 25th of July. There are enough alternatives within literally a few seconds away from the hotel (The Wildflower restaurant for Breakfast is uber decent) for this not to be a major issue and is at worst an inconvenience.
I have also just had a situation where my credit card was basically double charged and only got to know after 2 days but that is currently being sorted out by the hotel.
If you have the money, stay at top dollar hotels like the Fairmont. For mid-Upper range hotels like the Picasso, you will not get much better in Makati.
