Description: Corner Tree Cafe is a Vegetarian / Vegan Cafe. We serve food from Asia to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas in a cosy intimate setting. We also offer good wines, local beers and some house cocktails. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy our delicious food. In fact most of our customers are omnivores, but vegetarians will feel right at home here (we also serve some gluten-free dishes). To add to our regular menu, we have weekly specials sometimes inspired by current events or international days. Booking is advisable. Children welcome.

Having met the owner, Chiqui, at a charity activity and discussed my non-meat eater status, I was keen to try out the vegetarian menu. And I wasn't disappointed. The food is inventive and tasty. I particularly liked the starter of dumplings and the vegetarian chilli. Tip: if you have the chilli ask for the Harissa accompaniment: it adds a very nice piquancy to the dish. And the chocolate mousse is pretty good too.

Corner Tree Cafe is a real hidden gem in Makati, it's a little off the beaten track but well worth the visit.

The food options are all vegetation but great for both vegie dinners and meat eaters alike. Food is intended to be appreciated as it is an not mimic a meat equivalent.

The restaurant it's self is quite small but has a welcoming atmosphere with excellent service.

Since me and my fiancé are both vegetarian, this is our favorite restaurant in Manila. Their dish brown rice with Kare-kare toppings is so yummy! Their Vegetarian Kare-kare is made of leafy green pechay, eggplant, sitaw and creamy peanut butter with black bean paste (which replaces shrimp paste called bagoong). The new dish Korean bibimbamp is very good, with shitake mushroom is our favorite next to Kare-kare. What I just don’t like is the iced tea that is so sweet.

The photos in their website showing the dining area that looks huge but in reality it is a very small restaurant. The reason why they have sofa lounge near the main door, so that walk-in diner will wait and watch the diners to check if they are close to finish their meals. Do make reservations before going here esp. at night, this restaurant is full of reservation that fits less than 50 people in more or less 40sq.mtr. dining area. The owner should also improve the toilet because it is located outside Corner Tree and has no separate cubicle for Female & Male Toilet which I think is part of proper sanity esp. for expensive restaurant.

Service is good. When they serve us fried banana, I noticed that some part was over cooked and turn black but the waiter serve it though it is very noticeable that the food is not safe to eat esp. if it is burned too much. So I asked the crew to replace it and they did.

Going out to get a ride, the guard posted outside will assist you to look for a cab. And when it is raining, he will help you with his huge umbrella.

We went on a Saturday lunchtime and at 1pm it wasn't too busy, which was a nice surprise. The space is small but well arranged, with some nice pictures on the walls. Music in the background was loud enough to hear but not to stop conversations - which was good.
Food was tasty and well prepared. It is so nice to have interesting and original dishes to try. It isn't the cheapest place around with a main course around 300 php, but we felt it was worth it.
We also indulged a bit and had caked for dessert; a good choice as they were really nice.
Overall we really enjoyed our visit and will be going back again.
