Makati Shangri-La was the perfect location for my Manila vacation. Their staff are well trained and attentive and I had such a fun time shopping and eating close by and swimming / using the health club.

I was so glad that the educational tour of my students turns out so good. The students enjoy and they learn a lot. The seminar that facilitate by Mr. Nards and Chef Santos was really good. The familiarization of the back of the house, F & B facilities and laundry area is excellent. Thank You to the all hotel staff and officers that assist my students and my faculty during the educational tour. You've done a good job, the students really love the staff and the facilities. Keep it up.-JENNIFER DORIA (HM Dept. of Adamson University)

It is always a joy after a long flight to arrive in Manila and know that I'm heading for the Shangri-La in Makati. Even skipper and Scooby guard dogs are ready to give a warm welcome on arrival. Amazing!

We dicided to book an overnight stay. But this time, its not at Edsa. Instead, we tried Shangri-La Makati.

We are lucky to checked-in at exactly 11am since there's already an available room for us. We also have Php 2,250 consumable. As per instruction during checkin, you can consume it on food and inside the room.

The receptionist is nice to answer our queries. And I would like to commend "Borge" for a job well done.

We learned from him that Shangri-La Makati is more of business type hotel because of its location at the heart of business district at Makati. The hotel's peak is during weekdays due to business accounts and corporate check-in. By Friday, most guests are already checked-out. Locals are expected to stay during weekend for a quick relaxation and getaway.

Compare to Edsa Shangri-La, though located as well in business district near Ortgas, it was built in a "resort type" hotel. Because of its ambiance.

The room in Shangri-la makati is bigger and too spacious. We had king size bed. The room also have couch. At the bathroom, the shower is separated at the bath tub.

Oops! by the way the hotel gave us complimentary dried mango.

The swimming pool, gym and spa is located at the 4th pool. The spa offers limited services and can offer room service.

I was so impressed to their pool. It's a lap pool from 5ft to 8ft. For those who will bring kids, there is a separate kiddie pool beside the lap pool.

The Circles, their in-house restaurant offers buffet breakfast has limited food choices. The breakfast has Filipino, Asian and American cuisine. In the future Sage, another restau inside Shangri-La Makati will offer complimentary breakfast for in-house guests. Sage will offer plated breakfast. So it's you who will decide if go for buffet or plated breakfast.

Upon checkout, we bought goodies inside the room (chocolates, water) so we can use our remaining consumable amount. We said to charge it on our Php 2250 consumable amount. The receptionist said it was not applicable to the consumable amount which conflicts to what the receptionist said upon check-in.

So we ended up paying it separately. Lessons learned, always confirm and clarify before deciding to buy something.

All in all, our stay was great. Staffs are friendly and very approachable. No complain with their services but need to improve instructions to their guests especially if you are availing promos. I also suggest to pay the room upon checking-in so you would know what are the remaining balance is (taxes, service charge - for what?, etc).

Dear chinaeyez20,

Thank you for a detailed account of your recent stay, it is refreshing to know how you and your friends had a great time while staying with us on your weekend “staycation.” I’m glad that you were able to try most of the facilities of the hotel and enjoyed them, as well as the bestselling breakfast buffet at Circles. It’s true that we also offer breakfast at Sage Restaurant, our latest restaurant on the second level. I apologize if there was a misunderstanding with the consumable amount, though that is usually used for dining only, but I’m glad that the front desk staff was able to clear this up with you. I hope to welcome you back again in the hotel when you decide to go for another staycation in this side of the city.

Sincerely,

I am a frequent traveler and when in Manila I always stay at the Shangri La Hotel in Makati and find it to be one of the best hotels in the world. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are great, but what makes the hotel special is the amazing staff. As a business traveler, your best option is to stay on the Horizon floor and use the services on the 24th lounge. The staff on the 24th floor lounge are beyond fantastic. They have helped me make emergency flight changes at 2am, last minute dinner reservations for clients, call a doctor when I needed one amongst tons of other services every day. I have been lucky enough to deal with service associates like PJ, Gelo, Trody, May, Esa, Belle, Konrad, Camille and many others make my time spent away from home easier.

Room Tip: stay on 24 or 23

I stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. All the staff are very friendly and are always willing to assist. The rooms are well appointed and generous in size. Wi-Fi speeds in the room are good and video calls are no problem. Housekeeping do a great job servicing the room each day and the hotel's security makes you feel safe. The gym is very well appointed with great staff. Will definitely stay here again
