i've recently been invited by my bestfriend, together with his family, to try this restaurant at Rockwell. My bestfriend has nothing but good words about this restaurant, and since i'm a sucker for good steak, i was so curious and excited to try it. and it did not disappoint.
we had the Mamou's Linguini Vongole, and the Angus steak (sorry, i dont know which exactly from their menu choices).
Pasta: presentation? well this pasta was nothing special to look at. it was really so plain, it was an understatement. the only garnish it has was, hmmm cream and cheese, and not so much at all. but take a bite, and you'd know why. this pasta was good to stand on its own. the pasta itself exudes flavor you'd think (and i think it was) made of steak too. it was really good, i could've eaten the whole plate if i wasn't making room for the steak. :) it was served al dente. serving? excellent for sharing.
Steak: best steak i've tried so far. it was thick, expertly cooked (medium pink? - as my friend described it being a connoisseur on food), and really really juicy. even the fat was cooked crispy. no sauce given coz no sauce needed. presentation and serving? well it was swimming in oil, so you'd think, oh no, but it kept the steak's flavor. great for sharing. i think even their smallest portion is good for sharing.
they also recommend the soft shell crab salad.
price, well as i've said, i was invited. lucky me :)
i definitely recommend :)
