i've recently been invited by my bestfriend, together with his family, to try this restaurant at Rockwell. My bestfriend has nothing but good words about this restaurant, and since i'm a sucker for good steak, i was so curious and excited to try it. and it did not disappoint.

we had the Mamou's Linguini Vongole, and the Angus steak (sorry, i dont know which exactly from their menu choices).

Pasta: presentation? well this pasta was nothing special to look at. it was really so plain, it was an understatement. the only garnish it has was, hmmm cream and cheese, and not so much at all. but take a bite, and you'd know why. this pasta was good to stand on its own. the pasta itself exudes flavor you'd think (and i think it was) made of steak too. it was really good, i could've eaten the whole plate if i wasn't making room for the steak. :) it was served al dente. serving? excellent for sharing.

Steak: best steak i've tried so far. it was thick, expertly cooked (medium pink? - as my friend described it being a connoisseur on food), and really really juicy. even the fat was cooked crispy. no sauce given coz no sauce needed. presentation and serving? well it was swimming in oil, so you'd think, oh no, but it kept the steak's flavor. great for sharing. i think even their smallest portion is good for sharing.

they also recommend the soft shell crab salad.

price, well as i've said, i was invited. lucky me :)

i definitely recommend :)

They have the best steak. Big serving for pastas. Owner chef is very generous she will make sure you are happy with what you ordered.

excellent steak and keylime pie but the truffle pasta lacks flavor and taste. it is very crowded and every inch of space is occupied very little room to move, and you can even hear the conversation of the next table, if it were not for the steak which it is know for, it probably would not be my place to go, which is why i give it 4stars.

Ours was a wonderful dinner. The food was great & the price was fair. If you want a fine dinning I suggest Mamou. Great ambience.

We were at Mamou's in Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Makati, after an under water photo work shop in Anilao. After a 2 and a half hour drive from Manila, we went to this retaurant and the owner of ACACIA Dive Resort had ordered the food for us. It was 10 of us. At first came the green salad and another appetizer of cheese, salami and honey dip. Then came the steak, huge size, 10 of us ate 3 portion of steaks and fried nice big shrimps. We also had the spaghetti with porcini mushroom, all very good combination and all sinfully delicious. The dessert was 'crispy milk' with sugar, which amazingly delicious. The price was moderate but the service and presentation of all the food was execellent. I will come back again again to this restaurant for sure.
