I give this hotel a rating of 2 because the staff is friendly and the location is a 10min walk to SM Megamall where I spent most of shopping time. The breakfast changes daily and at times it isn’t too bad. Plus the place is clean.
Now the negative, supposedly we got the newly renovated premier room with a double bed, single bed and a flat screen TV. The 3rd floor window doesn’t close completely so it gets quite noisy in the morning, so if you like to sleep in forget it. The bathroom is clean but forget about a nice warm shower because you either have boiling hot or cold.
There are not many utilities in the room, no cups, no kettle and no hair dryer. However if you ask they will try and accommodate, but it does get a bit tedious when you have to ask every night. Room cleaning services does a good job but they only provide 2 sets of towels even though we paid for 3 people.
If you stay in this hotel, try and get higher floors so it won’t be too noisy.

Room Tip: Higher Floor to reduce noise from outside

I stayed at this hotel three nights for a meeting that was held there. It was terrible. I cannot find a single positive thing about this hotel. The hotel faces EDSA which is one of the most congested roads in Metro Manila. For the first night I was given a room facing EDSA, the noise of the traffic (especially the car/bus horns) kept me up all night. My throat hurt in the morning from the pollution (even though the window was closed). I asked for a room change and I got a huge room facing the other way, which was better, but only marginally. The AC of the upstairs meeting room, which was turned on before 6am, dripped water making "thump thump" noise, which made it impossible to sleep after 6. The windows opened up to another part of the hotel so I had to keep my curtains closed for any privacy. The room was extremely outdated, everything had a worn look, and none of the lights were bright so even when I turned all the lights on, it wasn't very bright, which added to the dingy look. The shower's water pressure was terribly low and it was impossible to control the hot water temperature (this was in both rooms). The toilet leaked. Saw three cockroaches during the course of my stay. The wireless internet connection was not reliable.

The meeting room is OK but the food served at the food was terrible. Choices for breakfast were miserable as well, and they couldn't turn on the hot plate & the toaster on at the same time, so it was not possible to enjoy a warm omelette and a toast. The cook who made the eggs only grunted when I asked him something; the waiter did not even serve me coffee.

The staff at the reception are friendly enough, saig good morning and all that, but did absolutely nothing I asked them to, only after two or three times they bothered to help.

I really hope I do not have to stay at this hotel again. Avoid this hotel if you are thinking of staying here for a vacation; if you have to stay here due to a meeting, then ask them to stay in a room that doesn't face EDSA, and try to eat there as little as possible!

Positive Points: Spacious Rooms, Newly Renovated Bathrooms, Friendly Staff, Good Free Internet Connection.

Negative Points: Presence of a Cockroach, Rubber Slippers for PH30 (If Seal is Broken, Considered Sold!), Limited Breakfast Food Choices, Cli_o_ically-Stimulated Giggling Female Staff.

I insisted on transferring to another room after seeing a medium-sized hyperactive cockroach crawling in the other bed because there is no way that I get a good sleep anymore. The staff was helpful though and transferred me to another room with three beds for he said there was a seminar going on and there was no available single bed bedrooms anymore. The bathrooms are newly renovated, but they have to tighten the shower knobs for it gets detached (on both rooms that i was in). The next morning I went for breakfast and the food choices was disappointing. The waitress was courteous and she was also the one who made my sunny sideup eggs but I noticed the skillet and spatula she was using was old and degraded. In the background I heard a female staff giggling and talking to some guy loudly which I found quite distracting.

You can actually get better accommodations along EDSA near Ortigas or Makati for a lesser amount and with a good buffet breakfast.

I'm writing this review to give credit to Richville hotel in all fairness despite the negative feedback written here.

My company sent me to Richville Hotel for a seminar last year. Since I came from the province, I had to call the hotel to ask for directions. The girl on the telephone was so polite and gave me precise info on how to get to their hotel. Once I was there, I was immediately given complimentary welcome drinks and escorted to my assigned room even though it is not yet check-in time. The check-in process was really quick I didn't even noticed it. I was able to have a rest before going to the seminar. Though the room was old, it was properly maintained (by the way, the room has 3 beds since 3 persons are assigned each room). The CR is spacious as well as the room itself. What I liked about it the most is that it has a homey feeling. From the guard to the reception, waiters and room boys, everyone will treat you like a family. You will not feel far away from home because this is home in itself. I am very comfortable talking with everyone.

The seminar hall was also well maintained and clean. The food served to us are very delicious (though I had to control my appetite since I will get fat for sure if won't). As I've mentioned, what I like about them most is their service. The waiters on the seminar are very attentive to our needs and very courteous as well.

Richville is near almost everywhere. Shangri-La and Megamall are just walking distances away, so travel is no hassle at all.

So far I will consider Richville hotel as one of the best hotels I've stayed in Manila. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and relatives.

me and my friends stayed at Richville Hotel for 2 nights. We were courteously greeted by the hotel staffs and they gave us free welcome drinks! The rooms are not so modern compared to the other hotels we've checked in, but the friendliness of their staffs will make you feel at home. There's also a signage of hotel upgrading that's why we will surely be coming back to stay with their newly renovated rooms. Ten thumbs up to Richville Hotel!

It was August last year when I had to attend a seminar, everything seems cool when going inside this hotel but I wont forget the instance that had incurred thruout my seminar first the baked lasagna that they served me had a secret spice inside of it, "cockroach",,, I tried calling the immediate attention of the organizer for the seminar and he seemed sorry and ashamed of what happened so he called in the waiter to inform him and the waiter removed my food and reply it with a new one, no questions asked and no comments given, I did not bother to eat it anymore since it was the most disgusting thing to encounter imagine serving a new food which for sure is a contaminated since a cockroach was found already in another plate.

The next day my mate found a very long hair on her food which again proves that their food hygiene practice is poor, and for my last day of stay after 5 days of the seminar they served up a good buffet but then again I was really pissed when I was eating to find a rubber on my food, I called the waiter again told him this happened not once but twice already and its not acceptable, he apologized and thats it, I was expecting a more better apology from the hotel since it didnt happen once and take note this a hotel and they should have given good care by doing "damage control", but instead the banquet manager approached then told me on behalf of the hotel that they were sorry for what happened and the management already knew what happened, wt_! it was the last day of my seminar and saying sorry wasnt already an issue here since it didnt happened once and not to mention that in the hotel industry seeing a cockroach in the food of a customer was the worst possible problem to encounter since this is food not just simple bed that a person takes a nap and not to mention the disregarding of the problems was really not acceptable since I had given the marketing department of the hotel a formal complaint letter and they didnt even replied back to me.

PS: the seminar was all about occupational safety & health for nurses, which was violated by this hotel and disregarded by the banquet staff and the hotel
