Atrium Hotel Manila

Yes rooms are a little dated, but quite large. The water pressure was great, the security was intensive and access to taxis and the train were great. Free wifi.

Room Tip: Choose a room near to the Lobby wing as the Wifi connection is very weak.

I had high expectations for this hotel after entering their lobby and after paying the bill. I thought I was up to something really special. The staff were friendly. The elevator kept shutting on me, I don't know what's wrong with it. When my husband and I entered their suite room, it smelled old and it looks old. The carpet had a very peculiar, old smell and it had stains on it. The bed was huge but the comforter smells like as if they don't wash it for years. The sheets were not that clean, and honestly, I had difficulty sleeping because I feel like something's crawling on my legs, which is really awkward, luckily, I woke up with no signs of bedbug bites. Their restroom was not that clean and had a really odd color of the toilet water. The room had a small fridge, a tv, and an odd smelling sofa. It had a great view of the city. Overall, I think their rooms are really just but photogenic, but when you actually stay there, it feels icky. I'm not sure if I would recommend this place, it's not worth your money. There are lot of better places to stay in Manila than here.

I was expecting the worst based on the negative reviews here, but it wasn't as bad as I'd feared. Bathrooms were clean (no mould around the sink or on the bath mat), the hot water was quite sufficient and the aircon wasn't too noisy.
The rooms are still pretty bare, and the carpets have the odd stain or too (though they have clearly been shampooed recently). Furniture is worn but clean and the sheets and towels were clean.
The surrounding neighborhood is a little but seedy but you can usually find taxis right outside the door, or the bellboys will find one for you.
On the positive side, the hotel is a short ride from Makati for less than half Makati prices, and there's lots of food around including at the Mall of Asia close by.

I have stayed many places in Manila and this will be my new "go-to" hotel. The security was excellent as there was a guard on every floor and many others all over. If security in Manila is not a concern to you it should be. The rooms were a little dated but quite large with good water pressure and great tv selection. It is a little off the beaten path, but many taxis nearby, as well as hotel provided transportation at a reasonable cost. Trip to airport was 15 minutes. This 5 star rating is based on value for what you get.

Room Tip: Ask for a upper floor room as it reduces road noise.

stayed here twice in between flights-got an apartment suite room for about 60 usd second time
they are known to be the largest rooms in the city and hell they were big-very comfy
its a good 3 star place-we did not bother with the restaurant but went to the local pizza hut
location is great-30 mins max to airport

i used 2stay at the swagman until the change of ownership then i stayed at the microtel until my girlfriend decided we would stayat the atrium. worst decision. the rooms are ok the bather rooms are terrible, old, small, very inconvient. the staff are polite but the vans n taxis they supply are nothing but a rip off!!!! the restraunt is horrible. dinner was the worst i have in the philippines in 10yrs of traveling there. breakfast was includedwith our room n we still had 2 have an argument with the waiter about it. then the choice of food was horrible. i had 2 eat out every meal. trying 2 sleep even on the 19th floor is near impossible as it is located outside a bus station an the constent horn beeping is unbelievable. 24hrs a day. they advitise like its so close 2 the airport and MOA bbut with the traffic sometimes it can take 1hr. pls take note of what your paying for.

I stayed with this hotel 1 yr. ago and now this is my only chance to give my honest reviews.
Yes, I was so disgusted seeing the brown water flushing the toilet bowl. Is just like I don't want to go to toilet anymore. They should change this system or else no one would like to stay this hotel.I would never recommend this hotel to anyone even it's free.

Room Tip: If you don't like brown water for flushing toilet stay away ths hotel.
