“Overrated Halo-Halo”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

hearing from friends, family, and colleagues, this Halo-Halo would have been awarded with the best word of mouth sensation this part of town, but when you get to realize, and get the first gulp of its creamy, shake-like halo-halo liquid, it's as if you can do it at home, so disappointing, you just need caramelized bananas, macapuno, crushed ice, and milk, well, add leche flan if you like, and that's basically it, no other attractions or secrets that you will remember or at least die for.

“Good Halo halo”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 via mobile

Good tasting simple halo halo. The original in Guagua that was run by the aunts of the current operators was the best. Unfortunately, the ones that we see now are just the relatives which is far from their aunts' original. I dislike the ice that is too fine, it's almost like a shake. I like the halo halo that has coarsely crushed ice, where it can melt through stirring compared to the fine ice they use that it sometimes becomes to liquid already when served.

“Halo-Halo to die for!”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

The recent rains have kept my husband and myself indoors so as soon as the weather cleared, off we drove to Razon's at Julia Vargas. The restaurant has only two parking slots so one has to park on the pay parking a few steps across. We ordered the sizzling bulalo with garlic rice and halo halo for dessert. The sizzling bulalo was delicious and the garlic rice was a fitting complement to the beef. Although the halo halo has only three ingredients--sweet banana, macapuno and leche flan, the shaved ice makes all the difference because it is so fine and smooth. Literally, there are no left over ice chips, like in other restaurants. Service is fast and courteous, prices are reasonable and we just keep coming back!

“A Razon for All Seasons”
Reviewed 1 June 2013

Razon may be a stylized equivalent to a Tagalog word, "Rason" translated loosely as "Reason" in English. And there are quite a number of reasons to eat here, but the most important sweet factor is the halo halo which is the signature dessert of the Razons. The chocolate meat (dinuguan) with white round rice cake (puto) is the next best thing. There are sinful (read - delicious) treats like the sisig and lechon kawali. If that is a mouthful - it really is.
