it is a BUSINESS HOTEL. for its price, you can do better elsewhere where they have FREE WIFI in rooms! unless you absolutely have to stay here, choose a hotel where wifi is free to guests. too bad, the staff is clearly well-trained. but no free guest wifi is a DEALBREAKER for me.

We stayed for 3 nights with relatives. We got nothing but the BEST services from the hotel receptionists to the housekeeper. Very accommodating staff. Response time is within 5-10 mins. The place was super clean. Security was properly observed you'll sleep worry-free. There were variety of food choices in their restaurant buffet. I will come back and stay here again and again.

Stayed one night here with my family of four (couple and two kids).

Our check-in experience was smooth and fast, reception friendly, the lobby elegant enough (old-world style) for a mid-range hotel in Metro Manila’s busy Ortigas district.

We got a deluxe room on the 21st floor for one night, with 2 single beds that can be pushed together to resemble a king size bed. The room is on the small side, with a slightly cramped feel and a traditional layout.

When the staff put in an extra bed so that our family of four could fit well, the bed took up what little extra space remained, forcing us to put the armchair and footstool right by the window. But this created an unexpectedly delightful result ---- a very welcoming relaxation spot where you could sit, stretch your legs and sample an unbeatable view that spanned the San Miguel Avenue, Lourdes Drive, and the Marikina Valley with a mountain range providing a very scenic backdrop. (Clear skies, no smog, I’m happy to report.) Plus, the slight corners built into the window (nice touch!) helped give us a sense of a wraparound view.

Tip: Deluxe rooms face the street and the outside world, while superior rooms face the inner courtyard (and neighboring buildings, perhaps up to the 15th floor or so?). Apart from free coffee in the room, there is apparently no other difference between deluxe and superior, we’re told.

Not great ---- the room had that distinctly 70s/80s look ---- with a very plain headboard, plain furniture, those traditional-style bedside lamps sticking out from the wall ---- and the room has a slightly musty smell, not overpowering, just enough to feel a little stale.

The room looks worn in many respects ---- the beige/tan wallpaper shows subtle signs of peeling & rippling ---- the aircon thermostat and light switch panels look old and scratchy ---- bathroom fixtures look tarnished and aging --- the brown carpet has seen better days. The standing floor lamp behind the armchair can barely support itself, rattles when you touch it and appears to be almost toppling over. (But it works.)

The bathroom door is a wooden folding type, which can feel clumsy (and is noisy too). The room door doesn’t close too firmly, needs a big push.

The beds feel fluffy at first, but tend to sag rather badly, and come undone very easily. Comfy only if you manage to stay in the middle of the bed. Pillows are not very supportive either.

Storage space for clothes was rather inadequate, with a closet that barely makes the grade (and looks cheap too). The mini-bar fridge was OK however, and the flat screen TV had a good selection of channels for family consumption.

We did enjoy the Richmonde Café at the 2nd floor for both lunch and dinner. Quite good, was more of a 4-star facility than the rest of the hotel, offering a perfectly good lunch with delicious risotto, a tasty but overpriced (410 pesos!) big burger, good chicken/spinach ravioli, an unusual tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake dessert, substantial potato wedges instead of fries. (The fried chicken basket was however bland). The breakfast buffet offered a respectable selection with a number of tasty Filipino dishes, lots of fruits, a choice of steamed or fried rice (the fried rice alternates with garlic sinangag). Staff was friendly and all-out trying to please, trying to compensate for the slow replenishment of certain food items (fruits, rice, noodles, etc.)

The indoor heated swimming pool was a nice surprise, located in an elegant Europeanesque hall complete with a piazza-style fountain. (The hall was very humid, thanks to the heat from the pool I suppose, but that was fine.) The gym equipment looked great too, though I only had a quick glimpse of the gym area.

The hotel needs a refurbishment and major refreshment of the rooms, but the public areas are still fine and can’t complain about the service. Plus, if you need it, there’s a 7-11 a few steps away and a number of eateries on the street behind the hotel. (The Starbucks and Jollibee on San Miguel Avenue, next door to the hotel, were inexplicably closed on a Saturday evening.)

I'm giving Richmonde a "3" overall rating ---- some items rate a "2" (room quality, perhaps) but there are a few "4" ratings to save the day (service, the pool, the restaurant).

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms have better views, but are not bigger or better than superior rooms in other aspects.

Stayed here in two stints. The quality was consistent on both occassions. The elevator needs some revamping though. It doesnt read the card at times. The food quality is fine. The rooms were neat and service was also good. An attractive feature is the mall and good number of restaurants nearby.

This is an old hotel but still maintained good enough. It is situated right in the middle of the city. It is easily accessible and is near the malls and restaurants. The lobby is small yet clean and appealing. The lifts were really small and needs improvement, it is kinda creepy being alone in a small lift, not recommended for claustropobics. The corridors were dark but clean. The room was small and dark. The bed was just ok. The bathroom needs improvement. The restaurant offers typical hotel food and taste and menu can still be improved. There is no scenic view in the resto. Overall, this is just an average hotel.

Your crew are not friendly, compared to other hotels, also the comfort room we had don't have bidet what an old school, well the hotel's food is so delicious. The wifi internet is very fast. The "Kuya" in charge with the swimming pool and gym is very accomodating. Well even if there are negative feedbacks i'm still looking forward to stay in Richmonde Ortigas. Just be nice to every guest you have. Godbless.
