We've just come back from a five week stay in San Fernando, staying with relatives who live there. We've been to the area before so know that the beach at Sea Park is the best in the area. We must have gone there every other day over our whole stay. We didn't stay there so can't comment on the accommodation. The beach is lovely and the sea is clear. Unfortunately there are no longer any fish to be seen. My husband snorkels and on previous visits would come back in describing the amazing fish. On this visit he says there is nothing to see when snorkelling. Only sea and sand. Presumably the fish have all moved out to deeper waters, or have all been eaten. The resort doesn't get that busy although the picnic tables do get a lot of trade. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Kiko, Val and Marg and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food is excellent and very good value compared to other places. The only main problem there is the state of the showers area and toilets. The mens toilet in particular is disgusting and dirty with non working flush and non working tap in the handbasin. The showers are not much better. If only Shipside Incorporated who own the site would spend a little money on rebuilding a new shower and toilet block area, it would be so much better. And clean the rubbish from the beach daily. Surely with the cheap labour available it would be easy to send someone out each morning with a rake to pick up the rubbish on the beach (mainly left by the picnic table trade). Its a lovely deep sandy beach but there are plastic cups, polythene bags orange peel etc. which could so easily be picked up.
