“The perfect place in Davao”
Reviewed 26 April 2010

I stayed here for a month with my young son in a studio apartment, the room was spacious and clean. The restaurant had a fabulous choice and easily catered for a very fussy 8 year old. The swimming pool was ideal to cool off in as the weather was superb.

had the "pleasure" to stay in the place 5 days in June together with my family.

BUT.
The rom we got was smelly, dirty and really need a brush up and some
major repair. Walls where cracked and dirty, ants or termites invaded the room
Bathroom in a bad condition and whitout any ventilation so no wonder
the whole place was smelling bad.

A request to get some cleaning done to get rid of the smell only result in
giving the rooms a spray with another smelling chemical spray.

The entrance was slimy and very slippery in the rain, and first when asked ¨
to get it cleaned, so that noone would glide in it and hurt them self, the hotel
staff did something to it.

In the garden was a big pile of rotten plants laying
where it should have been removed long time ago.

John T

PS Maybe the owner should stop golfing and take care of his hotel instead.

I stayed there for 3 days and it was so peaceful. Davao is definitely the place to stay if you want a perfect sunny day. Great if you want to get a tan. There are a lot of beaches just 20mins away if you take the boat. Absolutely enjoyed my stay.

What a wonderful place! I had room S which comprised a bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen (does S stand for suite?). Everything was clean and tidy and well maintained. The spacious bedroom had hanging space and storage space for clothes (but no hangers) a big bed with side tables and an aircon unit. By the way- be careful with your nightime antics, the headboard can lift off it's mountings (embarrassed smile). Lounge was also very large and had a Picasso on the wall (I think it might be a copy), chairs and tables, cable TV and a sofa. Off the lounge were the bathroom (with WC, shower- room for 2 persons, plus usual basin with mirror) and kitchen (fridge, cooking ring, sink and small selection of pans utensils and crockery- that's fine I didn't come here to cook). Outside was the beautifully landscaped gardens, a small pool and a poolside restaurant and bar (there is a reception area, but most business is done from the bar). The menu was impressive and the food delicious. Everything was cooked from fresh and it showed! Beer came with ice on it and was served in chilled glasses (am I in heaven?). Service was pretty quick considering everything was from scratch...the info considerately provided with the menu gave you ETAs for your meal which proved to be accurate. Ray Phillimore, the owner was often onhand in the bar to help with anything you were unsure of. He's a friendly helpful chap and will stand you a beer or two...I like that! What didn't I like? Going home!

  • Liked — Serenity and relaxation with no annoyances
  • Disliked — Some of the bar occupants can be boring, ha ha!

Red Knight Gardens is definitely a place to stay while on holiday in Davao. The staff are great and friendly, service is magnificent and food is truly mouth watering. The restaurant offers different varieties of food, from Filipino dishes to Western dishes. Red Knight is set in the middle of a peaceful subdivision, surrounded by a beautiful garden with a pool for you to relax by. I enjoyed my stay, the next time you visit Davao, check it out!

This is a great place to stay. Very reasonable prices on everything. Friendly staff with great smiles. Excellent for anyone English speaking because most of the guests are long-term stay Australians, English, and Americans. The owner is a great guy. Have a beer with him.
