The cathedral is newly renovated and the altar is newly designed. The new altar has a very elegant and flashy design, sooo much different from the old one which was very simple. It's very interesting to visit this church specially during sunday when it's filled with more than a thousand church-goers. Just dont forget to bring fan and hanky coz you'll need it. The last time i went there, i saw a very big tarpaulin with "Happy Eidl Fitr" hanging right across the church building. I guess this is to show that Davao City is a very friendly city no matter what religion you belong to, and that you will be treated with much respect as long as you are harmless :). You can also stroll around the area. Rizal park and Osmena park are still the favorite hang-out areas of most locals after attending mass. Food is every where, may it be street foods or fastfoods.
