Stayed at this Hotel for one wet rainy day and night in January, The room ( premier/delux ) are very spacious, however really need a makeover, as it looked old and shabby, water leaked in the bathroom, which seemed to cause a mini flood, the electricity connections iffy at best.
The upside was that the staff where always very polite and helpful, The pool area looked inviting
( even though it was raining ) the fifties cafe/restaurant was interesting with reasonable food.and a nice 50s ambiance
the Entrance/driveway is shared with another Motel/Hotel which in itself is not an issue except they referred to themselves as a short time taxi Hotel, where rates are charged by the hour ??

We stayed here for 2 nights and although the room is okay, we did not have a TV that is functioning. The water also smelled like rust and have become unavailable at one point. The food is okay also. The staff are very accommodating to our requests.

Here's our experinces and observations:

Pros:
- Quite affordable
- Buffet breakfast is Ok.

Cons:
- Old rooms, facilities.unclean bathroom
- Hot shower doesn't work, or inconsistently works.
- Lamp bulb flickers.
- 22% Service Charge on Food. / Must have a good patience while waiting.
- Cable TV doesn't work when we came. The room assistant told us to wait for the utility guys, but nobody came. Had to follow up.
- Noisy/old airconditioner
- We requested for two extra towel and pitcher of water, nobody came. Had to follow up thrice, only to tell us laundrymen didn't deliver. Made promised they'll deliver early in the morning. Again, nothing arrived in the morning.
- Service is generally unpleasant experience. Most of the staff doesn't really seem to care. Although, there's one lady in the resto very courteous enough to assist.
- We requested for room upgrade because the room given to us were terrible. but we were told there no longer available room. While we observed, there were lots of unoccupied room that time :(.
- This hotel is in serious decline.

Stayed for a night during our 2 week vacation in Davao. Our flights back to Dublin were re-booked by our travel insurance due to an unfortunate event and included was a night reservation to this hotel. We were told to stay in this hotel since our flight was the next day. From the hospital we arrived at the hotel at 9 PM waited for 2 hours or so due to some issues made by our travel insurance agent and the hotel. We were only able to get to our room around 11 PM. What can I say the room is not well lighted and looks a bit creepy and outdated however the bed are comfortable. Good thing I always brought my personal toiletries as there are no toiletries in the room. Breakfast is just ok. I have no idea how much our room cost so I can't really say if it's good value for money.

We only got to stay here one night when we were in Davao but it was very nice. The rooms were huge a downstairs with living room and kitchen, upstairs two bedrooms. Rooms overlooked a pool. There was a restaurant on site. Staff were very nice just like most Filipino ran places you cannot beat the service! Cabs only took a few minutes to arrive after they were called. Hotel is not in a great location not easy to just walk around the town but cabs were cheap and easy to find. Will stay here again

Got to stay here coz of the package i bought from a group buying site which includes stay in this hotel for 2 nights with free buffet breakfast and a lot of activities in davao. I was surprised coz i got the voucher cheap with all those included so i was expecting just a cheap accommodation that comes with it. But to my surprise, the hotel wasn't bad at all, with nice pool and restaurant. Though the room itself was small and just simple, and the bathroom was even smaller, our entire stay went well. It was accessible to malls , though a bit far from the airport. We weren't able to use the pool coz of our hectic schedule. A bit turn off by the way was the access going to our room. We have to pass by the inside of the cafe/restaurant. So if you're soaking wet, people eating in the restaurant will be able to see you including the waiters. Buffet breakfast was good although they only offered almost filipino breakfast .

This was my second trip to this hotel and both stays were just great. The first time was November last year for one week and I just returned from a two week stay that was just great. This hotel is very well suited for every kind of traveler, but I would say it caters very well to friends, families, and couples. The pool area is great for kids and entertaining. We had a family suit which is great a big two bed room and a kitchen, lots of room for everyone. The staff are very accommodating to every need you may have. If you need something for the kitchen or a table for outside by the pool just ask and it is there. The staff really made us feel at home with a VIP type of treatment. My hat goes off to them with special thanks to the general manger Carlos C. and Rodel J. for all their fine efforts for making our stay very enjoyable. Its was really hard to leave after experiencing such a special time there. Thanks to all at the Crown I we will be returning soon.

Room Tip: If you plan to entertain get a family room with parking area and pool side access.
