ok a friend booked me in to stay at eddies ( beverly boteique hotel)..funny how even the taxi drivers still refer to the hotel as "eddies"...i had no complaints...i got a "mates rate" as i was surposed to be staying for some weeks....i left after 1 week and still got charged the agreed rate...so was happy with that..bed was the most comfortable i have ever slept in in the 2-3 star hotel range...med size flat screen t.v...cable...very clean room...good food downstairs...free wi fi..i thought location was as good as any..appx a 20min trip from the airport by taxi..taxis are inexpensive in cebu and i found they allways put the meter on ,,,big change from other parts of the philippines and asia....security guards at hotel enterance..reception very helpfull..in house security box from memory..sorry not too sure...no pool..no lift.. but.i liked this hotel & would stay again..

Room Tip: ground floor would be a tad noisey...i found 1st floor with a view of the church was quiet. just a...

I stayed at Eddie’s in one of the upper rooms at the back wing of the hotel, and was awoken one night with the sound of an engine on high revs, this went on for quite some time, so I got out of bed and opened the hotel door to investigate what the noise was, I found that the whole courtyard was filled with smoke, my first thought was that the hotel was on fire, and the fire brigade were in attendance, so I made my way across the balcony and over the bridge down to the hotel reception to ask if there was a fire; “no, they’re just fogging for insects ” answered the night duty steward. I was left dazed, possibly by the lungful of toxic smoke I had just inhaled, and possibly by the shock of them wanting to fog for insects in the early hours of the morning. Apart from that the hotel was ok, rooms were clean and the staff friendly, did not try the restaurant.

The larger rooms are spacious, the smaller ones too small to be comfortable. Nearby nightlife and supermarket. Restaurant is pretty good. No fridge was a downside.

Eddie's Hotel in the past many years back was OK, but the owner Alice does not keep after it any longer and she is just to arrogant to fix things up a bit. She thinks the past reputation is good enough to keep people coming. The hotel is next to the bikini bar district and lots of prostitutes in and out of the hotel all the time.. The rooms are warn out, out dated and noisy. The rooms are in corridors that are all open to the outside. The TV's are 14 " small ones. No fridges in room either. Bathrooms again, are out dated.

The restaurant bar has American food, but way, way over priced, small portions and not prepared that well. Better stay away from this place as there are many other nicer hotels at reasonable prices close by.

In Cebu you usually do not get what you pay for in hotels, but Eddies Hotel is good for the money. The bars are a few minutes walking distance from the hotel and a short taxi ride to the Ayala Mall for shopping and very good restaurants. There is some noise in the main building at night near the budget rooms from customers talking to loud. The rooms are not big but clean and beds comfortable. The staff in general is attentive to your needs, and the restaurant which is open until 10 pm is a good value.

My fiancee and I had arrived there and I booked a room that was supposed to be nicest room they had. The room wasn't decorated anything like that in the pics on their website. The stationary in the room was used and torn. The phonebook was outdated and it was a 2006 phonebook, not a newer one like you expect to have. The one night we stayed was scary.. I heard women screaming outside our room and the cops were arresting somebody that night. That told me it wasn't safe around there at night, so we decided to go somewhere else the next morning. Those were the bad things, but the good things I encountered was the room was clean and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant at the hotel was good and they have the BEST halo halo in Cebu.
