I like how the owners keep the atmosphere vintage yet a little bit modernize. The employees are accommodating. The food is great and the services as well. Please provide more outlets in some rooms especially the barkadahan.

We like this place as it's near Fuente Circle where Larsians is located.
We stayed at their family room the last time we went there. 10 people can fit in that room and sleep comfortably.
2 CR with hot and cold shower. Don't expect too much as this is an old building. It will take some time before the heater kicks in.
Cable TV with good reception.
Nice bed and linen.
AC is really good because it made the room really cold.
They provided soap and towels.
Buffet breakfast is included which is a very big plus for us backpackers because we will need the energy for the rest of the day.
I always make it to the point that I tell my co-backpackers about Verbena because I think it's one of the best pension house near Fuente.

The room is clean, big, and the quality is OK for the price. There is a breakfast buffet included, with average quality. The location is good, in a quiet street, and it is a 20 minutes walk to the Ayala centre.

I checked-in to this hotel for our regular monthly meetings and I have no doubt why my boss always prefer to have us checked in this hotel. Its affordable, yet doesn't compromise comfort. They have a well-functioning aircon, hot and cold shower and a pleasant comforter good enough not to freeze you when you want to put your aircon full-blast. The attendants are also courteous and pleasing. They serve a buffet-breakfast which is I just so so.

For the price, don't expect super modern facilities. It's just a decent and proper stay for a couple of days if you aren't too fussy.

Hot showers don't function well, but the rooms are generally clean. The staff are quite friendly and helpful, and it's in a pretty convenient spot near the circle. Wifi is available, and there's a rather basic complimentary breakfast buffet.

This place is great for short stays.
Although, some rooms are not that good with small space.
I'll still recommend this though if you're looking for cheap accommodation.
Service is above average.
Some of their receptionists seem to be discriminating.
I stay in hotels in two-ways - dress-up well and dress-up simple.
They seem to give more attention on those dressing up well.

Our group is mainly composed of 16 adults and 3 children..we were given the exact room for the group..staffs are very much accommodating and helpful for our hectic city tours..for the accommodation, we were charged per head but i think it is still very much cheap!if we will be permitted to come back in cebu, would still stay in this place!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Verbena Pension House soon to be transformed into Verbena Hotel to continue bringing you the comforts of a home. Verbena's drive towards uncompromising excellence in customer service and accommodation springs from a history that had become pivotal to this customer-focused business. Verbena had its humble beginning on May 3, 1976 as a small makeshift eatery. "Cozy Nook" was located in the garage of Engr. Pedro Urgello's duplex residence along "Verbena Street," hence its name today. It served mainly taxi drivers trying to get hearty comfort food to get them through their daily grind. The dishes fish head tinola and caldereta were among the top sellers that drew attention to its customers. Eventually, the reputation of good and affordable food reached office workers of establishments within its vicinity who later made the place their regular eating place. Its popularity grew to gain the moniker "Back Han Palace" since it was located behind the former Great Han Palace restaurant. The proprietor, Justina T. Urgello, an insightful businesswoman and wife of Engr. Pedro Urgello, shelled out a meager amount about P 1,170 as capital for her small eatery which paid off when business boomed even more. Ten years later, in 1986, Mrs. Justina Urgello loaned P 150,000 from the bank for the construction of a 3-storey lodging house. This came about after her desire to open a safe, clean and affordable boarding/lodging house for medical students of the neighboring medical school. Mission: We commit to continuously offer excellent, convenient accommodation as well as quality and decent customer services to our valued guests.
