“Nice Bridge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

I find it strange that the bridge is a 'tourist attraction' but then again I do have fond memories of crossing the bridge when in Cebu as there were lots of mopeds with 4-5 people on them everyone waving and laughing so its fun to see things like that when in the taxi!

Something to be proud of. When you pass the bridge, it feels like you are in another place....feels good.

“Just a bridge over troubled waters”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

I'm unsure why this bridge is listed as a tourist attraction. It's just a bridge, not unlike a million other bridges you've crossed. It's not even lit or decorated during Christmas or Sinulog.

The only thing mildly interesting about the bridge is, it goes over waterfront squatter areas of Cebu. These are the kinds of places that gets wiped out when a typhoon passes through.

The Cebu squatter areas may make for an enlightening place to visit and to see how the other half lives. But those areas are best explored on foot with a trusted local during daytime rather than seen afar from a bridge.

“Something a bigger more modern city would have had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

If you arrive at the airport in cebu changes are you us this bridge to get to cebu city , the first I used it I felt it was out of place , something a bigger more modern city would have had , out of place looking down and see the fuel tanks that supply the city in the distance . It is a 4 lane bridge that will take you to the nation high way running north and south, if your not a experience driver in Asian NOT the place for you the rules of the road are the bigger your car or truck which there are many trucks has the right away

“A Cebu Landmark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

Named after a prominent Cebuano judge, the Marcelo Fernan Bridge is a most convenient and fastest way to the Mactan Cebu International Airport. We live in Mandaue City which quite near the bridge which we always refer to as "the second bridge." The 1st bridge, an older structure, is further away hence we less access it.

The Marcelo Fernan Bridge is a short but beautiful bridge, It is well maintained, stable, clean and well-lit. It had just undergone major oad repair/cementing so it's good for smooth driving.

There's a small park under the bridge (Mandaue side) where many early morning joggers take their rest and where families can relax.
