Avoid this hotel. Bed bugs. Water leaks from windows in many rooms, Rooms smelly and very old. Damage on closets, tables, carpets, doors, the list is endless. Bath room with only cold or too hot water. Maintenance fixed this many times, no improvement. Tiny small old TV and channels don't work most of the times, disturbance, never fixed. Curtains are thin and sun shine in the room before 6am. 2 elevators but first 8 floors are rented out to companies, so expect 3-5 minute waits to get the elevator. Staff are a joke, unprofessional, and don't care about complaints. Tour groups, school trips, big parties, this place get very noisy. This hotel is run down and should be demolished. Hotel looks somehow impressive outside and entrance but wait to you see the rooms. This hotel make Faulty Towers look like a 5 star hotel. Photos talk for themselves.

Room Tip: Do yourself a favor, avoid this hotel.

I was first hesitant to stay in this hotel since i know that this hotel is not that affordable, I was totally wrong! Shame oni me! hahaha i called up the hotel and inquire the rates, they are super affordable because they have promo rates. Their promo rates is like a budget hotel rates, but the rooms was awesome. Its big, spacious, with coffee table and chairs, a workdesk, a spacious bathroom and shower, a refrigerator, and a bathtub, the rate?? almost $20/night (PhP 1,000). Its a real deal and steal. The staff are so accommodating. The food is good too,

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel, the room is good, food is delicious staff are customer focus. I had a chance to talk to their new and young hotel manager and he said that the hotel will be renovating soon. The price is right for the accommodation. we will come back when in cebu again.

My family had qualms leafing through the previous reviews of this hotel, but our three-day, two-night stay at Golden Peak Hotel and Suites for a friend’s wedding was not that bad.

The management had upgraded our accommodations from standard to superior free of charge. They allowed us to bring in a stroller and a sterilizer for our little one. We were surprised to find our usually fussy 5-month-old baby sleeping like a log in this hotel.

While Room 1215 could use some updating – an A/C that has to be manually adjusted, a CRT TV, a rusty bathroom, and a “coffee making facility” that consists of two cups and saucers – this was offset by the generous legroom and a decent view of the city from the window.

At regular room rates, we would probably look elsewhere. Should Golden Peak Hotel continue to offer rooms at a promo price, we won’t mind staying here again.

Notes for Other Travelers:

1. Request for Room 1216 (suite) for a panoramic view of the city.

This unit is one of the newer-looking, well-lighted suites in the building. At 4,500, it does sound overrated, but if you rent it during promo period, the hotel will slash the price to almost half.

2. Book directly with the hotel.

The net amount you pay will usually be cheaper than the online rates published by third-party hotel locator services.

3. Take a taxi coming to Golden Peak if you can.

The in-house parking area accommodates only “regular-sized” cars. SUVs and larger vehicles will have to make do with the open-air garage at the back of the building. Parking slots are limited.

4. Eat ahead or bring some takeaway food with you – eating utensils, toothbrush, and toothpaste too – when checking in very late at night.

The hotel has a restaurant but it does not offer room service. Rooms are equipped with a bachelor’s fridge, a cup and saucer set, bath towels, shampoo, and soap.

Room Tip: Get a suite-type room when checking in with family. The suites are much roomier and actually feel mu...

Chose to stay here coz of the promo. The rooms are old and the sheets even had blood stains. What annoyed me the most is that when i went to the bathroom to brush my teeth there were roaches on my toothbrush! Gross!!! The staff are not at all friendly just like all the rest of the comments here which i agree.. They are not at all friendly

there is small park, small lobby, but room is no problem. I think this hotel is worth cost. If you want to enjoy more service, there is misbecame. If you want to stay with inexpensive cost, I'll recommend there.

The Golden Peak has been around for ages...I'm not sure which is older, the hotel or the management s style or the bed linens. I think you might see where I am going with my review, but to be fair, the hotel has tried to keep up....but still no WiFi in the rooms, TV while it has satellite programming, is still 15 years old and lost it's brightness. There is a business center if you can call it that ...2 odd working PCs, a lady who will do copies, when she is not off running personal errands or a favor for the manager. Closes at 5 sharp no exceptions.."there,s an internet Cafe around the corner, sir, .as she looks up from her cell phone ever so briefly. Well on to the rooms...prices range form P2200 to P4700 or more A NIGHT...not a week, P4700 a NIGHT! Move over Shangra-la!. Well, hey they do have a 3 level parking spaces for those of you who fly to Cebu with your car ! I mean there are normal things like the restaurant with the same old tired menu, the cityscape view (squatter villa) , the low currency rate exchange window, and a constant flow of horn honking taxis passing your window. The place is fairly clean if you do not look close at the corners. My room smelled a bit, (but not terribly strong) like roach spray. For the life of me I cannot imagine why anyone would come to Cebu, spend this kind of money on a Hotel room located in an area void of grass, trees, or beaches that Cebu has become known for. By the way we were there because a friend had a party in one of the conventions rooms. (we spent the night not wanting to travel home being drunk) the tables and plastic chairs we all covered in washed again white cloth. ah...Err...., 20 century chic, Cebu style, I guess.
