As with the previous reviewer, our family found Abaca so good, I am reluctant to write about it. All the other feedbacks hold true--- lovely spacious rooms, outstanding food, exceptional sincere service. Special thanks to Raffy and Angelo.

We are a family of four with two small children. We may not be the usual clientele the resort would have, but the staff made it extra accommodating for us and for our kids. Would definitely return for a couple’s retreat next time.

Room Tip: Seaview Pool Villa

I've done this twice now, written a review about a place so special that I didn't want to give away the secret. This is a place you want to keep for yourself.

Just nine rooms, nine. It can't ever be too busy or crowded, there's always a table at the restaurant for you, the pool is never crowded, there's always an available pool cabana and a member of the staff are always just steps away.

If you need to unwind, relax or clear your mind this is the perfect place.

The service and food is so good there's no reason to leave.

Not really a place for family's with young children.

And it's a little tough to get into town if you want an alternative dining spot or to shop.

Room Tip: Just pick one.

From the moment I found Abaca on the internet I knew it was our sort of place. My husband and I travel a great deal and have long decided to look for that rare breed of hotel that is just perfect. Abaca is more than a hotel it is a complete oasis, close to the airport, near enough to Cebu be accessible but far enough to be a complete haven to escape the hustel and bustle of the city.
The accommodation is first class, the restaurant has a superb chef who justly deserves his reputation for his wonderful creations. The spa is superb with wonderful therapists, always willing to fit you in regardless of time! But the real key to this hotel is the staff, lead by Glenn Ylanan the manager of many years standing, nothing is too much trouble. You cant quantify the impact of good staff and each of the staff at the Abaca deserve to take a bow, they are quite simply superb.

Room Tip: All rooms in Abaca have beautiful views, we choose the penthouse oceanfront suite and it delivered o...

No need to join any tour. Just relax at this hotel, either in your room or at pool. Simply read books, go for a swim, have lunch at the pool, take a nap. Very good restaurant at hotel too. And it is only a short ride from airport. What else you can expect?

If you want to party, or spend lots of time on shopping in the city, this hotel is not for you.

Abaca deserves the hype. We decided to stay after seeing a reference to the resort in British Vogue and we were very pleased with our choice. We experienced excellent, personalised service, top-class food (and great coffee, which isn't always easy to find), beautiful rooms with everything you could possibly want and need, a great infinity pool, and a spa with excellent therapists. Every member of staff was attentive, polite and ready and willing to help in any way they could, including Raffy, Albert, Angelo, Ray and the lovely ladies who greeted us for dinner each night. Well done to general manager Glenn on running such a great resort and to Chef Wade for the beautiful food we enjoyed both here and at the abaca cafe in town. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Over our seven nights we stayed in a suite and a villa - both were excellent. We particularly enjoye...

I used to always want to stay in Shangri La. Now Abaca is my new place. Dare expect the best service in Abaca because you will get it. A fantasy place. Absolute comfort! From the moment they pick us up from the airport to the checkout, they focus on every little detail to make you feel pampered!

We spent the New Year holiday at the Abaca Boutique Resort. With only 9 rooms, the hotel is small, but the small size gave us a feeling of privacy and luxury that's impossible to find at larger hotels. General Manger Glenn and Head Butler Raffy manage a staff that's friendly and attentive without being overbearing or instusive. Our room was impeccably clean and refreshed whenever we left. No request was too small or task too large for the cheerful butler staff. Raffy personally coordinated my many scuba diving excursions. Chef Wade's fresh food, simply, but perfectly prepared made meals a highlight of our stay. Breakfast every morning, whether delivered to our room or taken in the restaurant was fantastic. For the New Year the hotel hired a boat that took us to sea, where we could watch the fireworks from the many different locations along the coast. The boat excursion was a special touch that made the New Year celebration for us. The hotel's relaxed and cheerful atmoshpere made our stay truly memorable. All the world calss service came with world class prices, but the value of the hotel, service and food far exceeded the cost. We'll be back again.

Room Tip: Our pool side room offered a small terrace and great access to the pool. I'll pick the same roo...
