JPark Island Resort & Waterpark, Cebu

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with 3 young kids: 6 and 4 yrs old(twin).
Rooms: comfortable beds, 3 flat-screen TV, doesn't have the shower problem in previous review, free internet
Swimming pool and waterpark: swimming pool is simple and lacks jacuzzi. Waterpark is fun and well-run, no more food checking as stated in previous review
Food: We think that is the upside of this hotel: generous buffet breakfast, authentic chinese restaurant and korean restaurant (lots of korean visitors). Also, excellent live seafood in seaside restaurant.
Staff: attentive life-guard at the swimming pool and watrpark

The hotel is new with nice decor (except the design of the bath tub lets water flowing down like a spring, wetting the floor seriously) . Most of the staff were very friendly however lack of training and hospitality experience. Examples - 1) housekeeping staff replenished the amenities in our room with different standard; 2) the senior mgr offered a late check out but the reception was not aware of it, apparently a communication problem.

The most frustrating experience we encountered during our stay was ¨bag checking¨. We first sincerely thought this was a security procedure which is pretty common in the Philippines. But the real reason (confirmed by a hotel staff) behind the check was actually to search if any food n drinks brought in by locals. (Note: the hotel receives locals for day-using their water park facilities). We were told by the staff that the locals loved to bring in lots of drinks n food which greatly impacted their food outlet business. So the hotel eventually applied a policy that ¨Food n beverages are strictly prohibited" no matter you are a stay-in hotel guest or day-use local. The guard at the main entrance would then give you a warning once any food n beverages sighted from your bag during the check.

We saw quite a lot of hotel guests bring in their food stuffs, surely this is a common practice. We felt like checking in a concentration camp!

I've just come back from Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa.
If you go to Cebu sometime, you should definitely stay in this hotel.
This hotel was just open last year , everything is new and clean!!!
There is huge pool area which has 3 watersliders , wave pool , stream pool , kids pool and many cavanas.
My son loved to swim at the kids pool and stay there all day. Of course it has beautiful beach out there.
All of the hotel stuffs are very nice and helpful.
We enjoy buffet breakfast at the familia restaurant everymorning.
They have Japanese food section , Korean food section and continental food section.
I am sure everyone likes it!
If you go to shopping to downtown , the hotel has free shuttle bus to shopping center.
It takes about 45 to 60 minutes to get there. You can enjoy shopping and local food.
If you go vacation with kids , I really recommend this hotel ! It's a super paradise !!
I can't wait to go back there again!!!

We stayed in the suite. We were given 2 twin beds without being asked. After, we needed to request to change to a room with a king bed. it is true that the front desk was not so experienced. I think the staff needs more training.

We were very happy about the room which has good amenities. Our room has excellent view with a balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom has good shampoo and bath gel.

The breakfast have quite a good varieties. There were lots of Asian food and western food. The western food were average. However, there were many ppl taking the breakfast at the same time. As the hotel owner is a Korean, over 90% of the guests are from Korea for the time being.

We loved the Korean restaurant. The staff offered excellent service and the food was very good too. Our baby was sleeping and they immediately offered us a towel and a cushion for her to sleep. It has one of the best service that we have experienced ever. The Chinese restaurant was also very good. It offered good dim sum and a great variety of Chinese food. The prices of both restaurants are both very reasonable with good quality of food.

My 2-year-old daughter loves the waterpark and the swimming pool. The water was very clean and very good for kids. It was nicer than Shangrila that we have stayed bf. However, the beach was quite rocky without many fish.

I am happy about most of the staff that i have contacted with as most of them were very proactive and helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel to Asian families with kids.
