I would not have eaten here except that my husband had been to Anton's several times before and had liked the sizzling gambas so we decided to try it. This place would not pass muster in the US (although that is true of many restaurants in Cebu). The place looks particularly unclean. It needs a deep scrub and some paint for sure. They also need to chase the cats away from the kitchen. It is open to the outside and they were on every surface I could see. It is waterfront and the view of the bridge and the Cebu yacht club is beautiful. True, there is some squatter karaoke gong on, but it is charming and very "Cebu". The food is only ok. It didn't make us sick but the gambas was very lacking in shrimp, which, according to my husband, was not the case in the past. The flavor was fine and the garlic rice was actually good. The price was high for what you got and we were one of only two parties in the restaurant on a Saturday night. I am not sure how they stay in business.
