“Just ok.”

Small place to visit. Nothing much to see except Lapu-Lapu's statue is very nice. His butt is well structured. Good to shop inside. Nice people and decent shopping prices.

“Interesting Bit of Local History”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Although the surrounding location is a bit run down, the park in which the statue resides is nice and the statue itself quite impressive. it's worth a look if you are in Lapu Lapu.

“A landmark to visit”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Not bad to have a short visit, as it is nearby other tourist attractions especially if it is your first time to Cebu. It is also good to learn the colony past of the country, which always remind me how the East and the West encountered each other centuries ago.

“Worth visiting”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

A nice place for someone interested in history and culture. The shrine itself is quite beautiful, though there's not that much to see. If you have time, enjoying the foliage and soaking in the atmosphere is nice. Freelance tour guides rush to your side to hold umbrellas over your head and guide you over to the local businesses. For minimal service I gave them each 10 pesos as a tip, which covers the cost of a jeepney ride.

Things to do in the area: shop for souvenirs and packages of dried mango (100 grams of 7D for 65 pesos at one place). There are also money changers. I was initially offered 38 pesos per US dollar, though I found one that gave 42. Down the street is a cute accessories shop called Island Girl -- sticks out like a well manicured thumb. A jeepney ride further down the road takes you to Kai convenience store and Saac market.
