Called as 'Red rock' because of the sulfuric content of the water that flows from the falls makes the rocks turns orange to red.

If your cardio cannot contain extreme trekking and such, this place is for you. No long hour treks, no burning of fats . Just rent or ride a motorcycle from Dumaguete or from Valencia ang vuala! A small but majestic fall will be just in front of you.

Pulang bato falls is located in valencia, negros oriental. Negros is really abundant with natural resources and yet we wonder why it doesn't progress or maybe slowly progress. Sulfur, lakes, rivers, falls, they are all found in this island..You should visit this place when you come to dumaguete...It's really amazing to see how the mighty hand of God and His mere utterance creates everything.

The falls is in Valencia, near Casaroro falls. The place is nice for swimming, but the waters are cold. After dipping in the natural pools here, go to the natural hot spring nearby, ask the drivers or tour guides to take you there.

Going up you have to ride a habal habal, but beware of the drivers because they tend to charge double the standard fees; another problem is that they don't communicate among each other. We hired 4 habal habal to take us to Casaroro and to Pulang lupa falls. One of drivers had to buy gas so he went ahead. Problem is, the drivers did not agree on where to go first. As it turned out, 2 of us were in Casaroro and 2 were in Pulang Lupa. Being the driver/guides, they should not have let this happen. They don't even have cellphone loads to call one another. The signal is also very bad in that area. We lost a lot of time because of this incident. Worst of all, my driver even had the gall to ask for tips!

The experience would've been nice if not for the drivers

Pulangbato (red rocks) Falls is located in the Ocoy Valley in the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental, about 20-30 minutes away from Dumaguete. The place gets its name because of the waterfall’s seemingly reddish hue, which is caused by the presence of natural reddish rocks in the area. The easiest way is to get van rental services to bring you directly there, or use your own motorbike / car. There was a small entrance fee. No local could explain the red rock colour. This is also a volcanic area. So I think the ancient volcanic lava that flowed through here created the unique rock formations, and probably brought the iron minerals with it causing the unique red rock colour. I would say you must go here if you're in Dumaguete, it's a nice experience! Just be prepared, don't be afraid, bring foods, drinks and your cam!
