stayed there with my family and friends. the price is really reasonable for its accommodation. their bathroom must be the biggest advantage in their rooms, its nice and well designed!

its close to golden field (night life district) which was very good for us, since we went out almost every night while staying in the hotel.

i think overall its a place to recommend!

The front desk staff was a bit rude and not helpful at all.. He didn't suggest anything and when i made the effort to ask questions, its as if he finds it amusing. The staff who showed us the room did not even turned on the air conditioner, he just put our bags and left. The fridge was empty and turned off. Me and my husband were very disappointed and decided that instead of staying there for the whole week, we checked out after 3 days and transfered to another hotel nearby. Will not recommend to our friends and will not go back either.

Longtime Sugarland Hotel has been refurbished alongside the transfer of the new Bacolod Airport to Silay.

Rooms comfortable (spotty showers on occassion) with airport transfers
Twist Cafe served tasty food (molo soup & sandwich, inasal pizza.. we wanted to come back for the death by chocolate)
Service was pleasant and sweet... illongo dna

Overall, a good stay & well recommended.

Nice play to stay in Bacolod. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The common areas are stylishly decorated and the breakfast buffet by the Pool is one of the nicest I've seen in any hotel.

The shower in my room facing the street barely put out any water and the air conditioning smelled slightly musty.

Overall, I enjoyed the Sugarland and would return again.

I've stayed here and at the Kundohotel. The Sugarland is a whole lot nicer. There are two other new Hotels in the area and competition in Bacolod must be heating up.

There is a reason that the Sugarland Hotel has been a mainstay in Bacolod for many, many years.... they have an excellent , friendly and helpful staff along with a great facility! Their free breakfast buffet is outstanding as is their room service. I stayed their for 1 month with my wife visiting her relatives. The only complaint I had was (typical in the Philippines) that we had to move to another room about once a week as the room we were in was "reserved". The hotel was very busy around Christmas and New Years with parties and weddings so I guess moving around can be expected. If you are on the lower floors you could sometimes hear a loud party being held in their meeting rooms. The front of the hotel can be noisy too with noise from the street. The 3rd floor "executive" rooms facing the pool were the quietest and the most enjoyable. As a side note..... a "matrimonial bed" is a king size bed in the Philippines! The Sugarland is only 5 minutes away from the local mall and now that the airport has moved I hear it is a quiet location. Security is excellent and we had no problems.

  • Liked — Clean, safe, friendly staff, good food, close to everything
  • Disliked — Ocassional noise
