As others have noted, it's hard to find a good room for a decent price in Moscow. This hotel fits the bill. The room was clean, spacious, and relatively quiet with the windows closed. (It overlooks a busy intersection prone to lots of horn honking, but the windows are pretty well insulated.) The included breakfast was good enough--eggs, meat, cereals, other oddities. The staff spoke English and were helpful. WiFi is not included, but was only 200 rubles a day--about $6 when we were there. And the location is great for getting around, being right on top of a station for Moscow's extensive Metro system.

My first time in Moscow, and really struggled to find a hotel at a reasonable price, but this one fits the bill. Rooms are clean, pleasant, and the hotel feels safe and friendly.

One tip - it took me a bit of time to find as I went out of the oktyabrskaya metro station exit on Leninsky prospect: the hotel entrance is round the back relative to L-prospect, but it is pretty hard to spot for a newcomer, best to take the exit to Krimsky val.

Once I got there though, the staff were really nice, always helpful, even when they did not speak English (as always, even a little Russian goes a long way), and the hotel had a good feel to it. The location is great. Moscow is not built for the convenience of the individual, so being right by a metro station is a real plus. The metro is excellent, and will get you to any part of the city you need really easily.

I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.

The location for this hotel is great - right next to a metro (subway) station. The room was very small and was too expensive for this kind of small room. The view for the window was over internal 'yard' or something like this, besides window was a bit high. Sun showed up only @ the morning. Some reception desk women were no polite at all and treat everyone with suspicion of possible theft, however the other people in the staff were nice. Never had a chance to have a breakfast, even was not aware, it was possible.
I would prefer big chain hotels, or small boutique/apartment hotels, but I came on very short notice and unfortunately everything was sold out.

I've stayed twice in the Hotel Warsaw, most recently in August 2011. This is a spartan but clean hotel. Breakfast is included and is an eclectic mix by US standards but is reasonably good. The hotel is quite and well located. It sits on top of a Metro station so it is easy to get around the city. Having stayed in some expensive "dumps" in Moscow, the Hotel Warsaw is basically a good deal. No frills, no noise, no hassles. The Lobby staff are helpful and speak English well. I would recommend tis as a good business-man's Hotel in a good location in Moscow. It is near Gorky Park. I will use it again.

Room Tip: I have always gone for upper floors because the hotel is on the corner of two busy streets.

This was my 3rd stay at the Warsaw. Typical Soviet style building with grumpy security guards. The counter staff were very helpful and convinced me to use the Metro to get to Old Arbat for some shopping. The Warsaw has a great location. About 30 minute walk to the Kremlin and another 10 minutes to Red Square. About 40 minutes the other direction to Old Arbat. Do not attempt these walks unless you are sure the weather will be OK.
Pay the extra and get a double room; which are very nice. Otherwise you will end up with a single which is like a narrow dorm room with a tiny 8" TV.
Considering the location the Warsaw is a good value and the breakfast buffet is quite good with a nice view of Moscow from the 8th floor.

Room Tip: ask for a double room facing the street

The main feature in this hotel is its location: right next to a metro station and 40 minute walk from the Kremlin. The room I stayed was very small and it was expensive for that kind of room. However, everything is expensive in Moscow. One of the reception desk women was no polite at all, but the other people in the staff were nice. Brekafast is good.

this hotel, the varshava (the warsaw) is right next to gorky park, the moscow river and even connected to the Oktyabr'skaya metro stop.
the rooms are very clean, internet access, nice views from both the rooms and the breakfast area. It also has a delicious breakfast every morning with many choices. I stayed here 10 days and 9 nights in July then 2 days and 1 night in august of 2009.
