“I would stay here again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2010

The main feature in this hotel is its location: right next to a metro station and 40 minute walk from the Kremlin. The room I stayed was very small and it was expensive for that kind of room. However, everything is expensive in Moscow. One of the reception desk women was no polite at all, but the other people in the staff were nice. Brekafast is good.

this hotel, the varshava (the warsaw) is right next to gorky park, the moscow river and even connected to the Oktyabr'skaya metro stop.
the rooms are very clean, internet access, nice views from both the rooms and the breakfast area. It also has a delicious breakfast every morning with many choices. I stayed here 10 days and 9 nights in July then 2 days and 1 night in august of 2009.

We spent three nights at this hotel in September 2008, paying Rubles 5200 per night for a double room with breakfast, through an online booking service based in Leninksy Prospekt.

The Hotel Varshawa's advantages are:
- reasonably priced for location (2 metro stops from city centre or you can walk to the Kremlin in about 30-40 minutes)
- right next to Oktybryskya metro
- spacious, high-ceilinged room, comfortable bed, very clean and modern bathroom
- Internet access available in-room if you buy a card (costs about 70 roubles an hour)
- two eating establishments in the hotel : a cafe and a Japanese restaurant, both reasonably-priced

disadvantages:
- front desk staff speak English but are not very service-oriented but this seems a common problem in Moscow
- maid service not thorough but sufficient
- strange breakfast but what the heck...it was fine

In general this hotel exceeded our expectations (perhaps because they were low to start with...). It was busy with both Russian and foreigh guests and offers very good value for its location. Recommended!

For a high priced city like Russia, you could spend far more money for far less hotel.

These are nice rooms with clean bathrooms. The service was very good. I was a repeat guest for a reason. (And yes, I took my best friend there :) - the wife too!

On a historical note, Lenin once spent the night there and friends of mine have gotten a kick out of taking our picture with the Lenin plaque out front.

nb - Their English seemed decent, but I was practicing my Russian so I may not be the best judge of that.

We went to Moscow for Easter break 20-03 to 24-03-08; cold but lovely.
Hotel Warsaw is one of the best priced hotels if not the best priced in the centre of Moscow (near Kremlin).
Lovely spacious room, nice big clean bath room; staff speak a little but adequate english and very helpful; 1 minute walk from the metro station( Octiyabrskay station on the brown line) and I challenge you to find a more generous, lavis and varied buffet breakfast. All for 4750 Rubles a night per room. If you want to reserve a room or ask for the price email;
If your flight back is late in the day leave your luggage with the two security gaurd at the lift entrance for 10 rubles per hour per case. Just give this hotel a go and you won't be sorry to save about 50% or more of the price of the big chain hotels.

  • Liked — Cleaniness and location
  • Disliked — At the time of the visit the hotel foyer was under renovation (you could not use the hotel computers ) they could have move them to another location so we could use them; comes handy to check online for flight back home.
