We stayed for nearly a week in this hotel this September. The twin room and the bathroom, are spacious , but a longer "shower curtain" is suggested . Our room is quiet ( also very clean ) as we lived on the top floor facing the courtyard.
The receptionists ( 1 of them can speak fluent English) , cleaning maids, catering staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet is splendid, including sausages, eggs, fried rice/ spaghetti ( on alternate days) , variety of ham and cheese, good salad and fruits, together with variety of bread and many others, which are frequently Refilled. We have complimentary , free WiFi in public area and in our room, and we just need to get a new , daily, WiFi access code, perhaps for security reason.
As we have good sleep in a quiet room and plentiful choices of food in our breakfast, we are energetic on our day trips ( both business and holiday) by metro, just followed the signs on the platforms and the metro map, which are not difficult to locate if reading carefully.

As to location, from SVO airport we took airport bus 851 to metro station Rechnoi Vokzal where, after few stops, we changed from Circular line to another metro line Mendeleyevskaya heading for station Vladykno. There are such hotel's road marks on the pavement providing short-cut ( rather Safe walking ) , and just took us within 15 minutes on foot.

When coming back to Moscow next year on business, we would stay in this hotel again.

I booked online and they pretented not to have my reservation. Later they told me that they did not receice my payment. And even later there was no room availible for 'that' price?!?!

I was not able to pay again on the spot and although I could show them there own confirmations, they did not care. It was late in the evening when I arrived and I had to wait for 5 hours in the lobby for them to find things out. I already showed them all there confirmations...

To speed things up, I went to an ATM and got more cash. I went up, double booking a room and I payed two times. No help, no understanding from Sherston. Very, very nasty administration and people behind the counter!!

Try to avoid this hotel. Really...

As soon as you rich reception and by entering the III rd. floor room you started Moscow communist tour. Toilet is from that era, and it wasn’t refurbished all this time. Some of the tiles are different, after plumbing repairs; they didn't bother to replace with same tiles. My shower handle was broken, and it took 3 days for them to replace with new one. Don’t know how newly refurbish rooms look like but chances to have a one of those is less than 50%. Never seen stuff member smiling. Only positive thing is cleanness. Everything is perfectly clean.

Affordable prices for this hotel but has pros and cons. The location is not bad- it is certainly in a quieter part of town and a good ten minute walk to the nearest metro, but doesn't take too long to get into the centre. There isn't much else around the hotel other than a couple of liquor shops, so one of the only real choices for eating in the area is the restaurant which is attached to the hotel. The restaurant is affordable and has some nice choices, but don't bother if its busy because the service will be appalling.
The hotel itself is quite old fashioned Soviet feel. Third floor, presumably not yet renovated, clean but in need of some serious attention. Very little English spoken- a little on the front desk but none whatsoever in the hotel restaurant. This seems to be more of a hotel for Russians than tourists from other countries.
Overall it was endurable for the price, but wouldn't go back here.

This hotel still breaths the atmosphere of the Soviet time, at least at the 3th floor where we had our room. At the check it starts already where you meet people who apparently are trained NOT to smile. The question is more what is good about this hotel. Well. The Italian restaurant next to them. They make perfect Pizza's. In the hotel you find a cafe where they serve business lunch for 190 Rubles. Not even bad and a friendly woman. On the other side of the streets are a lot of mini shops. Always good. They are there because there is a busy train station. Also good but extremely noisy, day and night. The hotel. What to say? The shower goes in every direction except where you want it. The cover of the toilet was broken. The bathroom was not really clean. The bed was ok except that if you go with your loved one you prefer to sleep in one bed. Not in 2. Happy i can walk but if you are handicapt in this way avoid the hotel. You will never reach your room. The elevator stops not at the level of your floor but between 2 floors. In my eyes the hotel is out of time. But the wireless connection works. Every day you need to go to the check in to get a new password/login name. Most of the exits ( in case of fire) i saw where closed! On the wall is an overview of a rescue plan but only in Russian. Would i advise this hotel to others? Never!

We´re talking about two different hotels: non renovated foors and renovated floors. Renovated rooms can be found on the 2nd and on the 5th floor. (Some rooms on the 2nd are still non renovated) If you book a room, ALWAYS MAKE SURE that the room is on the 5th or on the 2nd floor. The 5th floor is simply perfect (please check my photos) I stayed one night on the 4th floor: unquestionably that was the worst hotel room I have ever seen in my life!!
Then I upgraded to a so called "Studio" room, which was 100 times better. The broke-down-nightmare room was 2600 Rubels/night (65 EUR), the perfet room was 4200 Rubes/night (105 EUR) Trust me: it worths the difference.
The breakfast was quite poor, but still acceptable. There´s one lady in the staff, who was very friendly and kind, she speaks English, but the others don´t speak English at all.
If you need a taxi, just ask them, they always call the same guy, who knows the city very well and his prices are lower, than the average.

So don´t forget: 5th or 2nd floor or run away!
