The Astrus used to be the Dom Tourist and left something to be desired. With a change of name and a major revamp, it has improved considerably. It is some way out of the city centre and it can be a drag getting into town. The breakfast is typical Eastern European with Western influence.

Stayed in this hotel twice. Rooms are good though its a old hotel but maintained well. I would recommend comfort room. As usual problem with this hotel is the service, which is very normal in Russia. Otherwise good hotel with great location, about 10 mins walk to nearest metro station.
For Indians couple of good Indian restaurant in the area, which is always a problem when you are in Russia to get good Indian vegetarian food.
Staff is not at all friendly from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant. But that is the way people are there.

Room Tip: Take comfort room

Me and my husband stayed in this hotel for 3 days. The room itself was clean but very basic. The breakfast was awful- we went there the first day and never did it again. Most of the food didn't seem fresh.
I guess that's what u pay for, when u want a not expensive hotel in Moscow. I would not recommend this hotel, unless you are on a very short business trip. It's ok to stay there 2 days but no longer.

The Hotel is located South of Moscow , and stand on the main street Leniski prospekt, bus stops are in front of the hotel and metro is 5 min walking.
Rooms are good clean and bathroom too.
Breakfast is with good, there is a wide choice of food, except of the fresh fruit present in a limited quantity in the early morning. The only notice i feel to do , after 2 times i have been stayed in this hotel is the bed, the mattress has springs that bother your back all the night.

I stayed at this hotel for about 2 weeks. It was close to the mall, had a nice sized fridge, and tv. The hotel had a decent breakfast, drugstore, spa, and places to eat. I have been to better hotels overseas, but I have definitely been to worse. This one is not bad at all.
