Description: Kvartira (or Apartment) 44 - is a brand rather than a chain - three cafes under the same name. Like members of a big loving family, they are alike but not identical. Among nice pieces of furniture, book shelves, old records etc. one feels at home, like visiting a grandma or favorite aunt. Likewise the atmosphere is friendly and easygoing with live music on some nights. Sometimes however, Friday nights shift into wild dance parties. The simple tasty food is affordable and the wine list - decent.

Kvartira 44 is a kind of apartment -restaurant with a soviet (but cozy) environment. Perfect to spend a quiet and relaxing evening with friends, out of the glamour of the city life and the noise of tiuristic restaurants.

Food is fair - starters in particular very satisfying (i tried the suggestion of ham, salami and cheese together with light beer: excellent. Main dish maybe not at the same level, but fair).
Bill is fair - strange for moscow....

Go there if you want to feel a member of the soviet intellighenzia, have a beer and dive intonyour thoughts

This is a restaurant build in ex flat of communal flat, not sure. They are saying, that you'll get a nostalgia from visiting it. But in reality, it's just a very small hall with a hell lot of tables and very small place to move your elbows. We came here to have a dinner for 3 persons and the table was nearly enough to accommodate all out plates and meals. Service a good, but out table was near the kitchen and we could hear everything, what stuff was saying, and sometimes it was not pleasent.

About meals. It's quite simple - tasty, but nothing special. I had a mushroom soup within the bread, and it was... bad. Cesar salad and everything else is ok, but nothing special.

In general, there are many "same type" restaurants in Moscow, which are much better than this.

We have dined at Apartment 44 a couple times each summer and have always enjoyed their outdoor setting, excellent service and decent menu. Starters, drinks and main courses all served in a relaxed atmosphere provide a nice alternative to the tourist spots in the city's center.

Piano bar. We had some nice meals and drinks at the restaurant. Have the Pork Chop or the Borscht. Also has a sister branch somewhere else in Moscow, did not get to visit. Friendly staff, found a waiter who could speak excellent English! They even brought us all blankets when it got s bit chilly outside! They look after their patrons! Would visit again!! and again!!

We went there having found it in the Lonely Planet, true it is quirky, to food is fine, but just fine nothing spectacular, but we were ripped right from the start no house wine, only beer available the most expensive as was the vodka , but it was a birthday meal with family and we were out to have a good time, but be careful they added a whole load to the bill, you cant argue if you cant read russian, but to add insult to injury we paid then then they came back asking for another 10%.
overall very average in terms of food, pub grub at best service mediocre my advice give a miss, not really worth a visit.
