I stayed for 3 nights in a room that was classed as VIP, the price was well under 100 euros per night. The room was reasonably comfortable (I was on a business trip). I agree with a previous rewiewer that the impact with the staff and the security procedures is a bit hard. The majority make you feel as if you were disturbing them rather than helping them pay their bills. English is rare and poor. I tried the standard buffet-style restaurant, and the quality/quantity was acceptable for a very decent price. One thing that disturbed me was the heavy smell of smoke coming into the room at night. Obviously there is not much control, as smoking isn't allowed on the premises. The location is convenient both for central Moscow and for the Airports and Crocus Centre (one can reach all of them without getting jammed into the local traffic). Special compliments go to the room cleaners, the room was spotless despite the old carpet, tapestry, bathroom etc. I will use it again.

Room Tip: As I said I was in an allegedly VIP room, on the 13th floor. I woul recommend this but there might b...

Stayed at the Alfa for two nights which was probably enough. Receptionists were not the friendliest and communication was difficult as nobody really spoke any English. The rooms were clean and basic and although we had apparently been upgraded to a "business room" I wouldn't like to say what the standard room was like! The PIzzeria in the hotel was excellent with a good choice available on the menu and the evening entertainment (a singer) was very good. This hotel is in a fairly good location for the metro and markets.

I've been coming to this hotel complex since 1991, and things have REALLY changed. :) I was impressed at the nice rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and excellent security. The lobby can't be beat for comfortably meeting and talking with friends. There are numerous comfortable chairs and couches arranged for chatting with friends. The Alfa hotel is less than a five minute walk to a beautiful lake, huge Moscow park, and metro station. The metro station is on a line that is five stops from Red Square without the need for transferring to another line. The price is very reasonable, especially for large meetings. They have meeting rooms as well as a large buffet dining room. For those who are just stopping by, there is a shopping mall with food court nearby, as well as several inexpensive options right outside the hotel doors. Inside they have a coffee shop, italian restaurant, and bar as well. They are a little bit more pricey, but convenient.

Room Tip: I believe we just had one of the cheaper rooms, and it was very nice. It looks like it had been rec...

Stayed here for 10 days in late April and found this hotel to be a good choice. It is well kept, rooms small but clean and the buffet breakfast offered a wide selection of food choices. Located 100 meters from the Partisansky metro station, you have easy access to downtown Moscow in about 30 minutes. Easy walking to restaurants and bars and the Izmailovo market.

Stayed here at the beginning of our trip for a couple of nights and found its location a little out but the metro was walkable and made access easy for all locations in Moscow easy.

Plenty of local restaurants, bars etc all within a short walk from hotel

Room Tip: Try and get a double / twin on the upper floors for the views across Moscow,if the sky is clear

This is a Russian hotel not a Western hotel in Russia. The king size bed was comfortable enough by Russian standards and the amenities adequate, for the price it is a good value. It is a very short walk to the Metro station and there is a large park across the street for running and walking. I never felt unsafe in the hotel. There are filtered water machines on each floor and a communal iron on one floor. The breakfast buffet is diverse and includes an omelette station.

Room Tip: Check the website to see which amenities (cafes, iron, sauna, etc.) are on each floor and pick accor...

We spent here 4 nights during our first trip to Moscow. We chose this hotel because of its location and acceptable price. Voucher and reservation was made on-line, without any trouble. The room was always clean and the staff on reception friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered enormous amount of different kinds of food. We missed a wider choice of foreign channels on TV, but in the end we did not go to Moscow to watch TV :-).
Taking all this into account hotel is worth recommending to others.
