Owner description: Red Square, once the site of executions and military parades, sits smack in the middle of Moscow, bounded on one side by the Kremlin walls and Lenin's tomb and on the other by GUM, the country's largest department store.

Visiting the Red Square in the middle of the Fifa world cup 2018 along with thousands of tourists from around the world, this is the huge plaza Russians use for their parades, governmental exhibitions, holiday gatherings and celebrations. Great architectural landmark in the center of Moscow.

Seeing this in real life for the first time was breath taking. Realizing how big it actually is and how tall the walls are. Learning a lot about the history was wonderful as well.

A large square with a lot of shopping/food options around.
The entrance to Kremlin and its museums is from there.
The meaning of the "red" in its name is actually "beautiful" in ancient Russian

So I finally saw the legendary Red Square. And it is worth it..very different plaza to any I have seen in my life, with very different buildings and landmarks on each site. Too bad the center of it was closed for World cup events. It defigured it.
