“Took me back to my childhood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

This circus reminded me of so many childhood memories watching great circus on TV. Absolutely what I imagined a traditional Russian circus to look and feel like except much better. Best clown I have ever seen and acrobatics to rival all cirque du soleil shows I have seen in las vegas.

I wasn't comfortable with the animal acts but have to admit they were spectacular.

I thought the tickets were cheap so this is the best value for money of any attraction in Moscow.

Take a cushion because the seats get very hard after a couple of hours

“Moscows Cirque Du Soleil!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

I love going to the circus, but this circus has a special meaning because of its history and tradition here. They change the shows frequently to keep people and locals to come back and see them more often, instead of the same old routine. It really reminded me of a Cirque Du Soleil shows in Las Vegas because a lot of emphasis is on utilizing there fine acrobats, gymnast, jugglers and performers...ect! I have actually met a few Cirque performers that transferred to Las Vegas, from this Moscow location. The music was great, they have beautiful costumes and have some fun entertainment for the children, as well. Actually they should charge a lot more for the tickets because this show was a steal for all ages. Next to Gorky Park, this is my second favorite fun place to go in Moscow!

“Great fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

If you pardon the animal cruelty of circuses then its great fun and very entertaining. First 'real' circus I've been too and it definitely didn't dissapoint! We paid for the cheapest tickets but managed to find two empty seats right at the front which had an amazing view.

“Old Fashioned Cirque With Incredible Talent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

The Nikulin circus is out of the classic tradition of Russian circuses. But the Olympic athletes, gymnasts and high wire performers are incredible. One of the best clown performances ever. Really accomplished talent. Great seating with good views and well organized (easy access to coat room, snacks and souvenirs. Ok for adults and kids.

“An Excellent Variety Show”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

Everything about the 2 hour plus show was excellent! I'd not been to the circus since I was a child and this show is like travelling back in time.

O.K there were performing animals: seals/sea lion, big cats and even a bear in the foyer (and other animals) that you could have your photo taken with. You need to just accept this this is part of the Russian Circus tradition - or don't go.

The building itself was lovely, with a spacious foyer and big cloakroom. It looks like a Theatre from the outside but of course has a circus ring and seating in the round, inside. There is a statue of a famous clown Yuri Nikulin and his comedy-car outside the front.

The show was a real 'variety' show and a well oiled-machine. There was a live orchestra, dancers, hi-tech lighting, an excellent clown (Vladimir Deryabkin), there were jugglers, gymnasts and other arial performers of the highest quality. There was something to enjoy for all ages.

I had a seat in the mid point of the seating (not the front or back) and only paid about £32. The view was excellent. It was an absolute bargain.

The Circus was about 20 minutes ride from Moscow central by Metro. The area is rather busy and a little run down, but there is a very impressive modern department store near to the circus and a Burger king, if you need to kill some time before the show.

Just do it!
