“Not good during the week”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

We went to the market on a Monday and there were very few shops open. It was quite empty. I heard it is really fun on weekends. We did buy many things and compared to shops at Arbat street it is much cheaper. This does not mean that izmailovo is very cheap. Considering the quality of products i would say it is expensive

“Open on weekends”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We where there on a Sunday and walked to through all the merchant stands. You can actually buy very good quality things that are sold in souvenir stores, but in a better (much better) Price. There are a lot of antiques and war pins, but our guide told us we where not allowed to take them out of the country. But we did buy fur vests, dolls and souvenirs. I wished I had had more time, since there was so much more to see and buy. The market is very far from downtown Moscow.

“For Lomo Lovers and for great souvenir (touristic and non, all with the best price in the city!)”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

We went to Vernisage - Izmailovo Market because we looked for a real soviet Lomo camera.

We bought a LC-A one in St. Petersburg for about 70€ (the price for the same camera re-furbished is about 200€). At Vernisage we have found a similar camera for only 20€!
But we have bought a couple of magnificent Lubitel for 40€, at most.

We couldn't resist to buy a hand-painted Matrioscka: the same gadget in the centre of the city costs at least 50€ more!
Of course, you have to negotiate even if the traders won't let you more than 20% discount.

We can suggest you to bring cash money, we had to go out two times to find a bancomat (the nearest is about 300mt in the shopping mall)

We payed the entrance something like 50/100 rubles (like 1/2 euros), but it's worth it.

“One of the best markets”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We have visited many markets in many places and this one of the best. They sell everything. I loved looking at all the old glassware, silverware, crockery, books and military memorabilia. But there's lots more to see Great place to buy your Russian souvenirs. Good prices and the traders are fun not demanding.
