Great place if you want to spend time (and in my case NYE) in Moscow!

Igor and Kate are very nice! Very helpful and awesome people! I don't agree at all with the "unfriendly staff comments" - be nice and friendly to people and they will be friendly towards you!
The hostel is near the Kremlin, good location for tourist city marks and a good departure point to explore the city (you might want to go a bit further if you want an affordable drink/meal) - close to the subway!

Ask Igor for directions to the cheapest supermarket near Arbat street, don't ask for the closest one because it is the closest but the most expensive one :)

The hostel is clean, functional kitchen, you have your own locker, .. basically it's a hostel... :)

We stayed here in November 2012 and were Yuri's first clients. Everything was spotless, which makes sense since no other tourists had been there yet. The hostel has a functional kitchen, nice common quarters (a living room with a big TV) and a very friendly and helpful manager (Yuri). Everything is modern and friendly. It is very close to the Kremlin and to Arbat street, making it's location ideal for exploring Moscow.

Staff are very unfriendly, the atmosphere is sterile, there are two showers and two toilets for the whole hostel, and very strange clientele hanging about. Stayed for four days with friends and never really felt comfortable here. 1000 rouble deposit for key is extortionate, and rooms aren't cheap anyway. Location is really good, but I would not stay at this hostel again. Overall, I was disappointed.

This hostel in the heart of the city of Moscow was really a great choice. The place is really close to Arbat street, The Red Square, metro stations (Borvitskaya and Arbat), the Kremlin and a lot more.
The owner was kind enough to change my reservation after doing a side trip to St. Petersburg. It was unfortunate that I experienced the trouble of missing my flight when I stayed there (not the hostel's fault) but their wifi connection was the best and I was able sort our my rebooked ticket with the help of the hostel staff.

We had no problem at all except for noisy guests at our first night. The location is just great and the facilities were in good working order. Red Square and Pushkin Museums are at walking distance.
It is a flat inside a building without a signtable and it is not easy to find someone to help you around there so be prepared. Remember the photo of the door.
You have to pay 1000 rubles as a deposit for a key.
A small noise at the common area disturbs all rooms. I think this is why you cannot drink and smoke there. Forget the idea of drinking together with friends there before going out to Moscow nights. You can do this outdoor if weather permits.
Overall it was a pleasure to stay there.
