When you are visiting Moscow, the red square and Kremlin are places you need to see. Be on time in the morning to buy a ticket, so you won't have a long queue. You must leave bags and stuff behind at a guard. After visiting the Kremlin, you get on the red square. Walking from there to get your bags back is just a few

Moscow's Old City centre is the most dramatic and attractive site in this city. Brilliant red brick, soaring towers, and occupying the 'high ground' of the capital for all to see.

The Kremlin fortress boasts walls and accumulated over centuries. The site was a wooden fortress centuries past until destroyed by The Golden Horde (Tatars). Added security and prosperity as a trading center meant more ornate architecture, including spires and churches. Eventually moats became parks with elevated walkways into the Kremlin.

A walk around the Kremlin is also worth it, but I do suggest taking a tour of the inside as well.

There was a bit of walkway construction at the river end, but did not detract from the spectacular walls.

The distance around is just under 2.5 kilometers and is not a difficult walk. The red stone structure with the signature white parapets is very impressive. Take some time to look at the different towers around the wall. The green roofs are later additions, but make give a distinction to the overall structure.

At the opposite side of the river, walk through the Alexander garden with its sights at the foot of the wall. Lots of history and monuments to view. The Kremlin walls overlooking the garden contrast well with the greenery of the garden with its wide walkways.
