Hotel Equator

My colleagues and I chose this hotel primarily because of the location and reasonable price. The location is ideal as for transport accessibility for business trips and for promenade along the waterfront and the historic center Vladivostok. Recommend to book a higher category rooms on 8-9 floors: they are clean and recently renovated. As for breakfast, it has a modest selection (cereal, rice, sausage, scrambled eggs, vegetables, cheese, cakes, boiled eggs, coffee and tea from bags, 2 varieties of juice, milk). You will not be left hungry, but a week later you get bored of your home. You also need to know in advance about the big Chinese groups staying at the hotel. These kond of tourists are very noisy, and maybe some guests can be shocked during breakfast time with its Chinese etiquette for eating. I have also noticed the thin walls between rooms: one can hear absolutely everything that happens in the next room. Finally - useful advice for dining: there is a grocery store close to hotel. Do not go to restaurants, buy in the store Vladivostok’s fish delicacies and spend nice time in the room.

Room Tip: Even rooms have spectacular sea views. The odd rooms - on ugly building behind the hotel.

Check in and check out are surprisingly fast. This is not usual for Russia.
rooms at floors 8 and 9 are new, renovated but greatly overpriced.
breakfast deserves 2 points out of 5. Very poor.
Big surprise - huge metall doors to each room on floor where i stayed.
Poor wi fi. I believe mentioned metall doors are the reason.
location of hotel is not bad, close to center and railway station.
Will try different hotel for my next visit.

Room Tip: try to choose floor after renovation. otherwise may be dissapointed greatly

Mould in the bathroom floor to ceiling. Old sheet vinyl on the bedroom floor - with cigarette burn marks. Doors that need slamming to close properly. Noisy tour groupes from neighbouring country. Old creaky beds. Room service changes towels daily but doesn't make the beds. No fans or air con in rooms. $150 for a twin room ( hugely overpriced - but this is a cheap hotel compared with the others ). Hallway carpet is filthy and decades old. Notwithstanding, bedding is clean and fresh on arrival. Front desk staff are friendly and try to help. Breakfast options are filling but not spectacular. Location is fantastic. Front rooms ( with view ) receive music noise all night until 05:00 ( it's quiet on the "city" side ). The best thing about the rooms in this hotel is leaving them.

A very basic soviet style hotel. Conveniently located. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but are very basic.
Internet in my room wasn't working well.

The quality and choice of food at the the breakfast buffet is not that great. Apparently, they serve lunches and dinners there as well, but if it is the same quality as breakfast, I would suggest avoiding it.

The service was unusually friendly and polite by ex-Soviet standards.

Unless you can't find rooms in any of the better hotels in the city, I would recommend you avoid staying in this one.

Room Tip: The restaurant / disco in the same building as the hotel and get really noisy in the evenings, so tr...

All hotels where I usually tay in Vladivostok was full and my colleaguses booked this "hotel" for me. It is not a hotel. It is "wayback machine". If you want to try the worse side, dark side of exUSSR - you must visit Equator hotel in Vladivostok.
Just look to my pictures..

This was the best hotel out of the three we have stayed at in Vladivostok. Neither Hotel Vladivostok nor Moryak can compete with the service we got in Equator Hotel. The reception staff might have been stressed by Chinese tourists speaking very loudly in the reception hall, but they were very service-minded and really did their job (what can`t be said about the two other hotels). We stayed in a big room on the 5th floor which included a bedroom, big living room and kitchen and bathroom. The quality of the room was good and the price was low compared to the quality of the room (compared to the rest of Russia). We had a view to the sea. Breakfast was served in a stylish cafe and was very delicious. There were 4 menus every day and coffe/tea, e.g. egg and bacon, sausages, porridge, apple cake. We really liked coffee bags (like tea bags) because we hadn`t seen it before. Parking place in front of the hotel was not very big but we found a space every time we needed to park. What was really funny was that when we drove to wash our car on the other end of the city we met father of a girl working at the reception in the hotel. The world is really small :) The only disadvantage was drilling outside the hotel every night but this had to be done and the hotel couldn`t do anything about it. We experienced only advantages with this hotel: centrally located, nice view from the upper floors, friendly staff, good food. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view, upper floor.

I'm stayed three night in this hotel. it was my business trip. Then I arrived, hotel staff was unsmiling, and not warmhearted. My room was quite small with old furniture, TV look like at beginning 90's. Breakfast begin at 8 A.M. - very inconvenient, and portion were small, quality not good. Never more will not stay here.

Room Tip: The rooms are located at 9 floor much better than other because were renovated recently. For example...
