Hotel is ok but totally over priced. Normal old Russian standard. The location is very good , in the center of Vladivostok. A couple of good restaurants close to the hotel. If someone wants the experience of old traditional Russian(Sovjet) standard when it comes to service and standard it worth to stay there, but pricing is redicolous.

I used to travel a lot to outer cities in Russia couple of years ago and I knew that I should not expect much, so I was not negatively surprised. Actually receptionist at the lobby was kind enough that did not charge me for an extra night when I arrived to the hotel at 08:00 a.m. which was a positive surprise for me as this is not a common practise in Russia. The room was clean, but very basic and I did not have time for breakfast so I can not tell how it is.

I stayed at this hotel two nights during my business trip to Vladivostok at the end of September 2012. Unfortunately there were a cinema festival in the city and the price for a standard room was twice higher compare to other days. It seemed I paid for a 5 star hotel price for a room, but received 3 star hotel comfort and service only.
So my first advice to future travelers – try to avoid the last full week of September and you will save money and control your temper.

The hotel is convenient located in the center of Vladivostok. The hotel building is an ancient one with four floors and well maintained. The lobby is spacious and glorious (see my pictures). The building has two elevators and a great stairs. The elevators were so slow and it was easier and faster to use stairs instead. The one good thing about elevators was an elevator mat (do not be surprised). The mat has a day of the week signed on it and they changed it every day.

The room was an average and had a strong smell of cigarettes. I asked a receptionist to find me a non-smoking room, but she told me that they were overbooked and my room was one of the best in the hotel (what a surprise!). She provided me an ionizer to clean the air in my room. I used it every night.

The furniture was out-dated, but well maintained. The floor carpet had a lot of black stains (no surprise it was a smoking room). The bathroom was better, but there were no holder for a toilet paper (they put it on the top of the toilet seat).

The hotel provides poor breakfast. A waiter at the breakfast area was impolite.
The hotel’s restaurant closes at 11 pm and there were no room service after that time.

I think I will not stay at this hotel anymore and try to book Hyundai hotel for my next visit.

Room Tip: Try to book a non-smoking room and call a receptionist in advance to mention it for your arrival. .

If you want to feel like you are back in the Russia of the 1990s, this the place for you: terrible food; bizarre service by almost everyone; time stuck somewhere around 1998. I have lived in Russia for many years, but this hotel is odd: restaurant was so terrible I never went back after a cold breakfast (this for 6000 Roubles a night) but the rooms are fine and the position is good. If you need an average place to stay and don't care about eating at the hotel (many good places nearby), this hotel is fine. The locals all say the Hyundai is the best place in town but it was full of local mafiosi and had about as much charm as a Hyundai car. Bottom line: fine to stay here if you are prepared for the madness of post-Soviet Russia, but don't bother with breakfast.

Room Tip: They do your clothes if you ask. Internet is via a cable so you might want to bring one but receptio...

If you are looking for some unique experience in Siberia, you might surely want to consider Versailles. Perhaps this could be the place if you want to experience something Russian - its style and architecture. It is located in the very good corner of the city centre with lots of dining options around. All receptionists I encountered during my 3 nights stay including late night were able to communicate in English and helpful, which was great. Room size is quite acceptable but the single bed was quite small, which is typical. However, the high ceiling helped quite bit to feel the room spacious.

We stayed one night. The trip to the airport is long and difficult with road works. Double room was clean and spacious but breakfast was pretty basic and they were slow to resupply items which ran out. Quite expensive. Reception desk lacks charm and incredibly bureaucratic - we arrived tired and worn out at midnight but had difficulty checking in despite a booking and prepaid voucher - they were concerned that we could not prove where we had been registered the previous night as we had been aboard a ship.
