We had rezervation but we don't have table and we have to wait to arrange one for us. We wait for the main course for more than an hour and a half.

This is a place to take your most appreciative and refined clients to, everything here reeks of opulence, from the entrance to decor to service, and of course, prices. Be prepared to drop $$ several thousand for a small group dinner, and make sure your guests appreciate fine French wine or at least upscale vodka at exorbitant prices.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Noble Nest after enjoying the ballet at the nearby Mariinsky Theater. We had discovered the restaurant throught the "1,000 Places To See Before You Die" book, and the description sounded like the perfect end to a high society evening.

The service was impeccable and the food was equally impressive. The restaurant is divided into several small dining rooms, so at no time do you feel like you're surrounded by a crowd. Instead, the feeling is quiet elegance, a throwback to the aristocratic St. Petersburg.

Dinner was featured escargot, classic Russian Borscht with puff pastry crust, pelmeni (a Russian dumpling filled with bear meat), Australian Barramundi and duck served with figs and chestnut sauce. We did not leave hungry, nor did we have any money left in our wallets!

This is the type of restaurant that screams - "special occasion". We'll be back!

I went there for the birthday of my wife and saw some positive reviews on certainly bought advertising. The place is ok, inside, but as no view what so ever on a garden or terrace. The service was attentive, the food no-where close to a 1* Michelin, and then came the big surprise: the price for the wine changed between when we ordered and when checked on the bill. We ended up paying 500$ for a dinner that was possibly worth 150$, wine included.
I think this place lives on its past, and i cannot recommend to anyone.

We had the "Noble Nest" 7 course set menu, at 7,500 roubles/head, plus wine at around 3,500 up a bottle. As starters are around 2,000, and mains 3,000 the set menu is comparatively good value.

However, the food does not live up to the attentive service or the setting. Our amuse bouche was a rather tasteless mousse. The starter proper was largely good, with avocado, tuna tartar and scallop carpaccio topped with a rather watery crab leg. Next up was red caviar with pancakes, egg and soured cream, also pretty good. The third course was an open duck "pancake" of filo pastry. The duck was rather over-cooked and in a non-descript sauce. The "creme du Barry" (cauliflower soup) with bacon garnish was very good. Berry sorbet followed - rather too crystaline for my liking. The 6th course of beef Stroganov on mashed potato was let down by tough meat and lack of seasoning. The final course was the worst - a rather tasteless pink heart-shaped goo masquarading as cherry mousse. With modest wine and coffee, it worked out at £250/head. No amount of good service can compensate for adequate food!

Don't bother!
