This restaurant had a very good review in the St Petersburg edition of Lonely Planet which did not in any way match our experience.
When we visited on a Sunday evening my friend and I were the only diners in the restaurant. The only person we encountered was a young inexperienced waitress who appeared scared to death of us/her job. The decor was dark and tired, more like a local amateur dramatics set than the opulent top restaurant it is billed as. 'Lift' music played loudly throughout our visit. There was absolutely no atmosphere or sense of comfort/ambience.
The food was edible but extremely clumsily prepared and not at all appetising. The puddings were a joke. The wine list was extremely limited and the wine we chose was a brand which could be bought cheaply in any UK supermarket. The cost of the meal was the highest we had paid during our visit to Russia, yet the meal was the worst experience of our trip bar none.
I really felt that we had totally wasted our money as well as a precious evening in St Petersburg.
